I own several Sailor Pens. I also own a Sailor 1911 standard with a 14k fine nib. This Sailor pen is a 1911 large with a medium nib. This Sailor feels bigger; although, it is not that much longer than the standard size. The large feels better in the hand as it is girthier than the standard size. The real difference is the nib. The 14k fine nib is nice but the 21k nib is very smooth; although, not smooth in the sense of it gliding over the paper smooth. Instead, you get a tactile feedback which is not scratchy but feels more like pencil on paper. Overall, a nice writing experience. The nib on this pen is also very wet and juicy.The Sailor is really more like a standard size fountain pen than some of the large fountain pens sold today. Although a classic pen shape, the Sailor is generic in general which is just preference. The other issue is it uses proprietary refills or converters which hold a small amount of ink. They do make a refill type for this pen; however, it much more expensive. The nibs also write with a finer line than western fountain pens—again a preference.Overall, this pen is outstanding if you like the style, nib size and tactile feedback. Otherwise, you will probably be happier with a western style fountain pen.I would recommend the pen!

I am very pleased with this pen. It has a nice amount of feedback and has delivered everything the sailor name promises. I liked it so much I ordered the fine in white.

Its a Sailor 21k medium, which writes more like a western fine, with some feedback. But it is a fantastic, slightly wet writer, that ALWAYS writes consistently, with just a touch of bounce from the large 21k nib. An absolute bargain.

This pen is one of the best values available today. 21K Gold nib. Sailor is the oldest Japanese pen company, has high production values. Imaging a resin pen body with threads so finely matched, the ink stays wet for months. Japanese nibs run narrow, in general, So, when ordering, you may want to go the next size broader to fit your preference. You will need a convertor as it does not ship with one.

For those of you new to Amazon Japan fountain pens, this is a Sailor 1911L. The model just below their "King of Pen". I got mine in medium, as fine and extra fine Japanese pens are much finer than European pens. The pen is perfectly balanced posted or not posted and feels great in my hand. Although the nib does have a touch of Sailor's signature "tooth", it is exceptionally smooth. It currently sits in my top 3 of favorite everyday pens. If you enjoy having a touch of feedback while you write, you'll love this pen. Does not include a converter, so be sure and pick one up. Sailor uses a proprietary size.The nib has an excellent ink flow. Be sure and use a finer quality fountain pen paper to avoid feathering and bleed through. Enjoy one of the finest Japanese pens currently made.

Pen came on time exactly as described. Nice stiff medium nib which is fine enough for my writing style, but still smooth. Small amount of feedback typical of Sailors. Comes with 2 cartridges.

Medium nib is very smooth compared to fine nib sailor. Great price from Amazon Japan. Highly recommend.

I currently own two of these pens. They are great writers. I absolutely love the 21k nibs and the way they write. I love the feedback I receive when using these pens. But, as much as I enjoy writing with these pens, I find myself not using them regularly. The primary reason is the tiny ink capacity of its proprietary converters. They only hold a tiny amount of ink. With regular use I have to refill the pen on a daily basis. If you like filling ink in pens, that's a good thing. I kinda like being able to use the pens without having to fill them daily.Pros:- Great writers. 21k nibs are fantastic. Great feedback and a smooth writer- Classy look- Amazing value for the moneyCons:- Tiny ink capacity- Proprietary ink converter. If you're going to make me use your converter only, at least give a choice for larger ink capacity

プロムナード中細に次いで、2本目の金ペン万年筆の購入です。プロムナードもとても良い万年筆なのです。14金ペン先も硬めでしっかりしていていいのですが、やはりセーラーを使うなら21金のペン先を試してみたかった。また、プロムナードの握る所のネジ山の後ろの段差が少し急で、書いているとちょっと痛くなるのがずっと気になっていました。反面、プロフィットJr.などを握ると、ネジ山の後ろに平面が取ってある為なだらかで、握っても痛くない。写真を見るとプロフィット系はみんなこんな感じ。書いている時の快適さを求めたくなりました。プロフィット21とプロフィットスタンダード21とで迷いましたが、プロムナードとほぼ同サイズのプロフィットスタンダード21では少し短いかと感じ、王道のプロフィット21に決めました。また、インクはペリカンのブルーブラックを使用している為、中細では少しインクフローが渋く感じられたので、中字を選びました。書いてみたところ、私の求めた通りの書き心地で、感動しました！ネジ山は痛くないし、ペン先はプロムナードの14金よりも明らかに柔らかさを感じます。そして中字を選んだことで明らかにインクフローも向上し、ヌラヌラ感を味わえます。字の太さも、ちょうどいい！これからは、この万年筆で日記を書くのが至福の憩いの時間になりそうです。やっぱり、セーラーがいちばん好みです。これからもずっと大事に使っていきたい！
