I briefly browsed this book at B&N. It looked interesting. I read three articles, the last one on -x ln (x), the article on Hadamard matrices and error detecting codes, and the one on Lotka-Volterra equations. The printed Lotka-Volterra equation contains a mistake: instead of - m x, it should be - m y, where y is the number of predators (x is the number of prey).

So interesting
An amazing book. Making math discussions for me and my gifted 11 year old really easy and fun.

First formula they focus on is written wrong!
Bought this from a local bookseller and I read the very first formula when I got home. It was Pythagorean’s theorem. This super simple formula is written wrong! It describes the hypontenuse as being an “A” as opposed to “C”. If they’re teaching this formula in this way, that spells trouble for those using the quadratic form. I’m afraid to read much further! What else is wrong???

Great book. Unhappy how they packaged it with other items.
Great gift for that “math” person in your life. They really like it. My only reason for docking a star is how it was packaged. It came with a few other items and the cover was bent in half which meant it had a crease when I gave it as a gift.
