Very handy and versatile tool
This laser measure is very accurate (compared to my tape measure) and easy to use. Spending a few minutes reading the instructions, makes all of the operations clear. The buttons are clearly labelled. It is very small in your hand and easy to point and measure. The display was easy to read and the measurement appeared quickly. It was also very useful to be able to include the units' body length in the measure or not depending on the situation. Although it may not be the intent of the laser, I also tried to use it to show a laser line along the wall to judge where to place a wall hanger for a picture so that it was level with another picture that was already hung. It was not perfect, but did work very well in most situations. All-in-all, totally worth the price and it will come in very handy in difficult measurement situations.

Save yourself the trouble of fighting with a flimsy tape measure
Have you ever needed to measure a distance with a tape measure and deal with it being floppy from a small shift to the side?Maybe you're trying to measure a long object and it falls off, folding over. And it doesn't help when no one is nearby to help you stabilize it so you can get it done and over with.Maybe you're measuring height but it's too tall to keep it stable. And something that's about 21-23 feet... Can you pin the measuring tape down with precision? Or if measuring bottom up, can you read it?If any of these scenarios frustrate you or are enough to raise your blood pressure for a moment when you just want to get it done - no climbing, no flopping of the measuring tape, no back and forth - this laser measuring tool will do the job with excellent accuracy, simplicity, and efficiency. How do you know if this item is NOT for you?- You can remember your measurements perfectly, even if you're having a rough day and now have to deal with a measuring tape getting flimsy on you and forcing you to reset.- You don't have any problems with multiple measurements even if you forgot your notepad and/or pen.- You are perfectly fine with area/volume/Pythagorean theorem calculations in your head.- You do not mind the time it takes to walk long distances for long measurements of multiple dimensions. On the other hand, this item IS FOR YOU...- If time is money. It may be negligible when it comes to finding the area or volume of a small room, but how about large rooms or tall heights? And what about doing room after room after room?- If convenience contributes to your safety as well as efficiency. Less papers, less writing, less calculating... and how would you like to measure that 18-22 feet height with accuracy quickly, safely, and by yourself when no one is nearby to assist?- If life is better frustration-free.This item is not cheap compared to the traditional tape measure. But you're not paying for just the item when you buy this. You're paying to simplify measuring and calculating spaces and distances so you can focus on getting to the next part of your project. And this item here does an excellent job.

Good device - but poor manual
Easy to use (once you figure it out) and accurate. No problems. Good price. The only con - the manual. The keys and buttons are not very intuitive so you need the manual to even start using the device. You certainly need it to do more complex measurements like area and volume. The manual is TINY (3 inches by 3.75 inches) and the print is ridiculously tiny.I'm 55 years old with good vision and even with a magnifying glass it was difficult to read. The best work around was to scan it and then blow up the .pdf file.I would have given the device 5 stars, but took one off for the nearly useless manual.
