Frieren: A Heartfelt Journey Through Time and Emotion
This anime is an absolute masterpiece that beautifully balances deep emotional resonance with moments of genuine warmth and humour. If you're a fan of anime that tugs at your heartstrings while exploring profound character growth, this is the perfect series for you.The story begins where most adventures end—with the hero party's triumphant return after defeating the Demon King. But instead of focusing on epic battles, Frieren shifts its attention to the aftermath, particularly the immortal elf mage Frieren, whose long lifespan sets her apart from her human companions. The anime captures the bittersweet reality of time’s passage, showing how fleeting mortal lives are compared to her eternal existence. What sets Frieren apart is its focus on serious character development. Frieren starts as an aloof, almost detached protagonist, but as the series progresses, we witness her emotional growth as she begins to understand the value of the memories and relationships she has forged. The anime masterfully weaves this development into her journey of self-discovery, as she reflects on her past and builds new bonds with her companions. The emotional attachment you’ll feel toward the characters is remarkable. Whether it’s through their quiet, reflective moments or heartfelt interactions, the anime ensures you’re deeply invested in their lives. The show’s pacing is deliberate, allowing the emotional weight of each scene to sink in. And when the tears come—and trust me, they will—they’re earned through poignant storytelling and beautifully crafted scenes.Visually, the anime is stunning. The animation captures both the grandeur of the world and the intimacy of the characters' emotions. The soundtrack further elevates the experience, with melodies that linger in your heart long after the episode ends.Frieren isn’t just an anime—it’s a journey that will leave you reflecting on the passage of time, the importance of human connections, and the meaning of a life well-lived. If you're looking for a show that makes you cry, laugh, and truly feel, then this anime is an absolute MUST WATCH.

Fantastic
A fantastic anime that is a work of art to watch. The characters are brillent and you can't help but full in love with them all. Rhe style qnd music is a perfect match for what is happen I the show. The story follows a mage elven culled frieren who part has beaten the demon lord. As time has gone on and her friends have pasted on, frieren and a new generation head of on a new adventure meeting new people and old people from the past. Along on her travels frieren begins to learn and understand the human heart and how people emotions can change. Can see why this got anime of the year as well. The only down side is that this has 16 episodes and we have to wait for the second part for the last ones. Seems to be the new thing with anime.

BRILLIANT ANIME
This one is special; the backgrounds are stunning; the animation is very good and the story is also very good. What makes this special is the characters characteristics; stroking a cat and watching a sunrise come to mind. The hero is an elf with high magic capabilities and is a demons worst enemy. However, there is a glaring mistake, both beginning and ending title segments are extras without the text, so why do we still have the songs lyrics onscreen when we have seen them on each of the episodes ?

Amazing fantasy story
So I read the manga before I seen the anime, and it’s in my top 10 list of favourite manga, the story is amazing, great world building, great characters, a good magic system & extremely good villains, I absolutely love this writers take on demons. But more than likely if you’re buying this you’ve already seen it & just want to own it, so you know how good it is.The only problem with this is that it’s not the full season, it’s only the first 16 episodes, I’m not a fan of how over the last few years they’re splitting the first season into separate Blurays, so you end up spending the same amount of money as a complete edition that usually comes with extra art books & posters just on regular editions. This this come with 4 art cards (I’ve added pictures), and the outer box has a really nice rainbow effect to the front cover when you turn it in the light. So I’m happy to own it, just wish it was the complete first season.

it's beautiful.
It's just a lovely story about loss really and building relationships a look at the human heart though a elf's eyes because frieren is after all centuries old and she's very charming and sweet I recommend this anime if you feel of course.

Can't wait for part 2
Good world building, music and characters. This is part 1 of season one.Might have to get the manga because the anime is gonna take some time catching up to it and YT shorts can just flood you with spoilers when they the algorithm decides to. XD

Because of you, I had this delightful adventure at the very end
A superlatively charming, moving and funny series with real depth of characterisation.Madhouse, the Japanese anime studio is even producing the second season, a thing unheard of, they generally only create first seasons and run.Crunchyroll has been pretty stingy though and not included the entire 1st season, only 16 of 28 episodes - the remainder are presumably due in a part 2 sometime.Do avoid the English (Californian accented) soundtrack, the voice actors and actresses do not suit the characters or sensibilities of the original Japanese at all, both languages are on the discs.

Great Slow-burner Split for Profit
I'm watching this now on NF, and it's very good. The screenplay unfolds at a slow, deliberate pace, pausing occasionally for flashbacks and side-stories. Unfortunately the NF version only has CC subtitles, with no option to tune out the descriptive text. This in and of itself is a good reason to buy the blu ray set. However, I refuse to buy into the company policy of shelling out for a divided season. Avarice is not an attractive quality in more ways than one.
