Ascoli Piceno, 1898. In a small provincial town, one of the oldest clubs in Italy is founded: Ascoli Calcio, a team destined to become the most famous in the Marche region. In the same years a small workshop was started in the city, which will be inherited in the 1950s by the one who will transform its fates: Emidio Lazzarini, a man with an innovative and revolutionary spirit. Thus began the rise of Golden Slipper, which will establish itself as a legend in the world of football. The history of the club and that of the company will remain inextricably linked over the years, up to the present day, in which it is discovered that the rich archive of Pantofola d'Oro contains an unpublished project, the result of the collaboration that took place with the footballers of Ascoli Calcio in the 50s. In fact, the design of a shoe developed for the training sessions of the players is found. The intuition is immediate: resume and reinterpret the model in a contemporary key, maintaining its original structure, which in the past had guaranteed a soft and enveloping fit. In other words, a "restomod" - term borrowed from the world of historic cars, but which is well suited to the new model of Pantofola d'Oro, brand by many defined as "the Ferrari of football". It is a non-conservative, innovative restoration, able to maintain the style, flavor and charm of the original model, but with the characteristics provided by contemporary technology. From this elaboration process the 1898 model was born, with which Pantofola d'Oro confirms the same dedication and the same desire to interpret the feelings of its time.
