Very solid bits of aluminium extrusion, perfect for crafting a light feature.Ordered this for a little project i want to do just above my desk on the wall, these will be going around the perimeter of a wall board that has concentric patterns on self adhesive felt tiles so will not be recessed into a wall as they are intended to be, those will then contain a set of neopixel strips.I had previously looked at aluminium strips for our living room lights but found that price wise they were very expensive, to do a 3 meter window bay was near £100 in metal and went with plastic so price wise for 4 meters in 1 meter lengths this is way cheaper than expected and would have looked so much better and with a premium finish.For me these are a 5 star product that have so many useful ways to use and not just on walls.

Whoa! Duncurin was very keen to try out these plaster-in plasterboard LED light channels. Here are some thoughts. For sure the modern LED strip light is a wondrous thing: cool, efficient, easy to install, easy to power - and of course they come in a variety of colours, light effects - and most of all look amazing - or not. The problem as always is finish. So many people use really blobby lights with widely dispersed LEDs and then simply rely on the sticky back to paste them somewhere - and they can look less than, less than, less than , well as good as they could be.Enter these lovely channels to retain your strip light. It can then be introduced between sheets of plasterboard for amazing lighting effects, under cabinets, on walls, behind the TV - just about wherever one’s imagination can take you. The profile is designed such that they can be pinned within the plasterboard which is then plastered flush to the slightly raised edge of the lighting channel where sits the LED lighting and wiring and the whole think is neat, tidy, smooth and flush. Also included is a “U” shaped diffuser strip which will sit snuggly within the aluminium channel housing the LED.With a little care and attention the whole thing can and should look amazing.Some more thoughts if I may?Of course power is important so think about this when you begin your project. Make sure you have planned for more oomph than you initially assume as it is far better to have a chunky power supply that is not “stressed” than one that is on the limit of its capability.The diffuser works ok but it is rather flimsy , once fitted it is fine but it isnt robust enough for you to be peeling it out each week to change the strip.To this end choose a quality strip. Duncurin likes the lovely COB (chip on board) strip lights which provide amazing ‘blob free’ lighting that is clear and bright. Also one could use the LED- Neon range but take care with this as it is rather tall and comes right to the top of the channel as it sits within - so try a test piece first to make sure you can still fit the diffuser strip.4x1m strips were received for review. Duncurin assumes that it is available in longer lengths. Of course this will depend upon one’s project but if it is something that is running along the top of your lounge then of course - the longer the better. One can abut it end to end but of course a long length is easier to use and avoids problems with a less than perfect ‘join’.With a little care and attention Duncurin is of the view that one could arrive at a lovely neat and professional lighting effect that looks effortlessly amazing. Install the aluminum channel, using drywall nails at the studs, and then tape and mud the flanges flush into your wall and you’re done.I used mine under the open bottom of my bathroom vanities as well as behind the toiletThey really take the lighting game to the next level and it feels like you’re in an ultra modern luxury hotel with this installed.Mind you, these are not an amateur install product, so you better know what you’re getting into before committing to them
