It's a Coleman
Coleman tents are not the fanciest tents out there, but they aren't priced as such, either. This is a Coleman quality tent. What does that mean? You're going to get good seams, decent materials, and strong flexible polls. You'll also get some pockets and lantern (LED recommended) hooks. How easy is it really to set up? Pretty easy, but it is not going to only take 5 minutes the first time. They color code the corner of the rainfly; I do wish they would have color coded the front pole clips vs. the cross-poll clips (since the pole itself is a different color, gray clips would have been perfect!) On first setup, I went down the wrong set -- only takes a minute to note you're going the wrong way, but there goes one of your five minutes!I have mixed feelings on clips vs. channels. My last Coleman tent (about six years ago) used channels, and while you had to play with the pole a little, there wasn't any guessing. With the clips, you have to know right where you are on the pole as you attach each clip.Main reason I wanted this tent was the vestibule. I don't like bringing my muddy shoes inside my tent after a day of hiking, but I don't like them sitting outside (since you never know when that stray shower might come by). This tent gives you a little "mud room" to store some gear and keeps it out of the rain. Can someone sleep in the vestibule? Sure. It's the size of a small pup tent. Not too comfortable if they are over 6' tall, but I'm sure kids would love it. As long as they're away they will be crossed over if someone needs the bathroom at night! The main tent is roomy. Fits a queen inflatable mattress. So, more than enough room for two. I personally don't like being all cramped up when camping, so when four of us go camping, it's two tents roughly this size. But if you want to all scootch together, you could fit four in here. I can somewhat stand (being 6'), not all the way, but enough to get around. Not that I spend a lot of time standing in a tent.As with all tents (and ever since I accidentally camped in a rainforest on one bike-camping trip): I do recommend a tarp underneath. This has a decent floor, but a tarp catches any sharp objects you might have missed and will make your tent last longer.Don't like privacy? Pull that rainfly off! The main tent is almost all mesh, so without the fly, it's a nearly clear dome. When using the fly, you can set the ropes to open or close it as much as you want (or need airflow). How long does it take to setup really? Experienced campers, give yourself about 10 minutes on that first try. From then on, 5-10 minutes depending on your campsite. As with all Coleman tents, the setup instructions (one page) are permanently built into the bag it comes in.Oh, one other feature that is new to me: Not good at packing up a tent? Always fighting to get it in the bag? They have a "rip strip" that you can release if you need it that makes the bag a little bigger. Good at packing up a tent? Then don't pull the strip!Planning my next camping trip now!

Well balanced waterproofing in a post PFAS world
This tent is spacious for the size/weight/cost mix. The vestibule is clutch. It’s very well made at the price point. For the new season of gear you’ll likely find lots of things labeled as PFAS free, this tent included. It’s just the reality we must deal with for outdoor gear and clothing.I have an aging quick setup 6 person tent that I loved, but with a tear in the tub and a set of aging straps it was time for something new. This tent exists at a midpoint between an umbrella style quickness and the old poles in sleeves. They’ve sped up setup by making the poles an exoskeleton style and keeping them tethered to the corners so there’s less fumbling when setting up in low light. What I really like is the ability to get a vestibule in a somewhat compact tent. It’s the donning/doffing of shoes that always used to let mosquitos into our old tent. With the vestibule I can close the zipper in a hurry and take my time while my portable zapper attracts any that may have snuck in and leaves them in the vestibule rather than the sleeping area. The overall waterproofing is ok for a light rain but the newer materials lost a lot of their water tightness as compared to the old fully taped forever chemical stuff. You can probably beef it up with a DWR type spray if you need to.If it’s dry out you can leave the rain fly off and have 100% ventilation. If not, the zippered areas should provide enough cross flow.Overall it is a good value for 3 people or parents and two smaller kids like us. Setup isn’t quite 5 minutes unless you practice a few times, but it’s much better than the old style. I always use a generic tarp as a footprint and I think you should too to keep it in service longer.

Coleman Tent
I ordered this tent mostly because it was a brand I trust and says it sets up in 5 Minutes. Anyone who has been tent camping knows putting up the tent is half the battle for the weekend. The tent comes assembled and sleeps 2 adults comfortably with a porch like screen room. We had a Queen air mattress that fit perfectly inside with room for accessories as well. It does take about 5 minutes and most of that time is the time it takes to stake it down. I really was impressed I envisioned it to be some sort of transformer that you throw out and it magically turns into a tent without your help. While it is in fact not quite that easy I was really impressed with just how fast it goes up. I think the rods are all fully encased in the tent and make the set up super easy. I was able to put it up by myself and only my young Grandson to help. It really is just unfold and step back. I gave this 5 Stars. This style would have saved me so much time over the years and a few tears as well. It really is easy and it stayed put all weekend. Tear down is not as quick as putting it up but overall it is pretty quick as well. I highly recommend trying the Easy Up Coleman Tent. Save the hard work and drama for the campfire!

Decent.
I do quite a bit of canoe camping.I'm trying to get my girlfriend as excited about spending time in the outdoors as I am.I figure the best way to do that is to make the experience as comfortable as possible.Having a good tent is an important part of that. This is a decent tent. There's plenty of floor space. Enough for our twin size inflatable mattress, all of our gear, and the doggie. The fully enclosed vestibule is nice for storing wet shoes and to isolate the wet dog until she dries off enough to be let around our sleeping gear...The included mesh gear loft is nice, as are the ample pockets sewn onto the walls. All this makes for convenient storage for phones, keys, headlamps, etc.The top half of the main body of the tent is all mesh, so ventilation should be pretty good. While the rain fly provides ample coverage and should keep you dry in even a heavy downpour.Setup is quite simple as the main poles are permanently attached to the body of the tent.I have a number of higher-end solo tents, so I have a basis for comparing included hardware. That's where this one loses a star.Inclusion of these few detail items would have lowered the weight of the tent, and/or made setup/takedown easier, but would also have raised the price point. So, it's a trade-off.Specifically I am referring to fiberglass poles, instead of aluminum. Fiberglass is pretty durable, but it's heavy, and less expensive. The clips that attach the body to the poles are not the easy, twist-off style, but are a little cheaper, less easy to remove variety. The steel stakes do work, but again, are way heavier than a more expensive aluminum stake. This is a good budget-minded tent that will get you outdoors in comfort.I have no doubt that it will serve the casual camper very well. There are lighter weight, higher quality tents out there, but you will pay for the nicer features and weight savings.Overall I recommend this for anyone on a budget. It'll get you outdoors.

great for short camping trip
Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the Coleman Skydome Tent, but I would like to clarify the claim of a "5-minute setup." It took two of us about 15 minutes to get everything set up—not difficult, but certainly more time-consuming than advertised. The process is straightforward, though, so once you get the hang of it, it should go faster. One of the highlights for me is the screened porch, which is super useful. We were able to store all our gear, including shoes, in this area, keeping the main tent clean and clutter-free. Inside the tent, it's spacious enough to comfortably fit a queen-size raised air mattress, with room to spare on both sides. The tent also features a handy net at the top for hanging a camping light, which was a great touch for nighttime use.I also liked the four clear pocket nets in the porch area. It is perfect for small-item storage. There’s also a zipper at the corner that lets you connect the tent to a power source if needed, which is a nice convenience. Lastly, the tent floor is easy to clean, and we appreciated the extra floor mat for outside use, which helps keep dirt out.
