The scale is just right for the top shelf of my bookcase. What I liked most was the incredible detail on the hull and deck. Amazing. What I liked least was how difficult the rigging was to untangle and put together. It was a real challenge. What I would change if I could would be using white thread instead of black thread on the sails. White or cream colored thread would have been more authentic looking. Overall . . . it's a beautiful model and has received numerous compliments since I put it on display.

The media could not be loaded. Arrived well packaged. Take your time assembling mast and sails. End result is perfect for my fireplace mantle.

My model arrived with a broken piece. Fortunately I was able to fix it. The final piece is loyal to the original ship today in terms of accuracy, at least externally. Can't say it's of top quality since manufacturer used wood, metal, and plastic, so I guess my feelings towards the model are as mixed as its materials.

I have always liked plastic models. I built cars and airplanes. Over forty years ago I even started building a model of the USS Constitution. I was going to give it to the mother of a girl I was very interested in at the time. I never completed that model and I still have it in a closet. I ordered this model so I could finally have a completed model USS Constitution to display on my mantle. This is a nice quality model that is mostly wood, with plastic parts for accents. The nice thing about it is the sails are already mounted on the masts and you only have to put the masts into the holes in the deck to finish assembling the model.

It definitely took a minute to figure out the assembly directions but once I did it was pretty simple. It turned out looking so good too!

This is a good looking model ship. All you have to do is attach the mast assembly and lock down the pre-configured rigging. (I had to tap one of my masts in with a mallet to get the rigging hooks to stretch to eyelets.) My only complaint: I was expecting it to be a bit larger, based on the product images shown (which, I suppose now, are Photoshopped). From stem to stern, the boat is only 22" L. When you add all masts, you get to over 30" in. But the pictures make it look larger. Use customer pics. for accurate reference.

Items like this are Christmas presents, beautiful, both that i bought!
