It's not "tuned" like the manual says
I purchased this antenna to replace my existing dual-band J-Pole. My previous antenna was great for the 2m band, but not so great for the 70cm band. I had high hopes for this antenna, but it is mediocre at best. The manual states it should get under a 1.5:1 SWR from 145-147MHz and 442-450MHz. Unfortunately, it is not tuned as accurately as they state. I mounted it 20 feet up in the air using 40ft of LMR400 cable, properly grounded where it enters my shack. My RigExpert antenna analyzer shows it to be over 2:1 SWR for most of the 2m and 70cm ranges listed in the manual. You can see in my attached image that it does perform well at certain specific frequencies, but it is not an all-around performer like they claim. If you are looking for a pre-tuned dual-band antenna, I would suggest looking elsewhere. I'll be taking this one down and putting my old antenna back up.

Rock solid rock star!
You can't beat the Comet GP line of antennas. I have had tremendous success with the GP-3 and GP-9 antennas but wanted one a bit more compact for field operations. As expected, the GP-1 is the little brother workhorse of the GP series. Great signal reports, sturdy build, and lightweight enough for mid-weight masts. This is a high quality Japanese antenna from a company that knows what Ham Radio operators need.
