I have used these products for years, both as the little starter plants for teaching children and their dirt (buying it from their website). I am so excited they are selling their dirt now in larger bags since it is fantastic for plants and at a price that is more affordable for many home growers. I wish they sold it in larger bags. The bags though are the perfect weights for doing indoor planting without much fuss and I typically do not need my husband's help lugging plants around.I have purchased both the succulent soil and potting soil, even though my last purchase was the potting soil for taking care of some of my other indoor plants. The plant nutrient mix is great for keeping plants healthy and rejuvenating sicker plants to a healthier state (I have a bad habit of buying hurt plants at big box stores and getting them healthy before re-homing them). This has started being one of my go-to soil companies.

I really like this succulent mix. It drains well, which is a must. I keep many cactus and succulents and I'm always looking for good soil. This nutrient rich formula is working really well so far.I'm not used to paying this price for a small bag, but for the sake of convenience I would do it again. I normally buy large bags from the big garden centers in town, but was unable to find it when I needed it. I took a chance on this and I'm glad I did. I had a lot of small transplanting projects to do, so the small bag was just perfect.There were a lot of complaints in the reviews about gnats and fungus being in the soil. I can tell you from experience that that can happen with any soil from anywhere. It's always a crap shoot when you buy a bag of soil and open it up. Gnats and fungus spores can get in the soil at the manufacturing facility, in the warehouse where they're stored, or even while they're in a truck being delivered somewhere. I wouldn't fault the company for having these problems. Sometimes you could open a bag of soil and put it in your garage or shed and all it takes is one gnat to come lay an egg or one fungus spore and you're whole bag can be spoiled. I got lucky with this particular bag. No complaints here!Another issue I saw in the reviews was that people were unhappy with the little bits of wood found in the soil. This soil actually comes with aged bark (it says it on the bag), so little bits of wood is to be expected. A lot of cactus mix comes with bits of wood, so I'm used to it. If someone didn't like it, they could easily pick the pieces out and throw them away. Again, no complaints here! In the future, if I need a small bag of soil I would absolutely purchase this again. I'm quite happy with it! :)

Ummm the dirt is fine I think but this time around the bag was THICKLY COVERED in dead flies it was disturbing! I thought it was caked on dirt but it was not eek! I haven’t opened the bag yet but I hope there isn’t a pest infestation inside…

LOVE LOVE LOVE this seed starter!! Best thing my seeds have ever known! It doesn't look like much when you open it, but expands once water is added. If you need to spread it out and make it last longer, fill your pots half way with dirt and the rest of the way up with this mix! The quality is amazing and I can tell how good the nutrients are based on how well and how fast my seeds sprouted! It is so easy to use and doesn't have a nasty smell. I ended up needing more starter and had to grab a different brand from the store and HATE it. I will only be using this stuff from now on.

The soil is great quality and comes in a 2 pack. It is decently sized for one so having 2 is a great bargain in my opinion. If you are interested in gardening or growing anything, this soil will do you great!

I enjoy the challenge & satisfying feeling of displaying randomly chosen tropical potted plants that started as a few seeds & "some dirt". Talk about a rabbit hole.. I'll never refer to "soil" as dirt again. Absent educating myself. I chose plants by color & "dirt" by price & volume. Now. . I just click "order again"Living in Miami, I have a continuos growing season & optimal conditions for the attention seeking tropicals & Bonsai breeds. This soil makes me look like I know what I'm doing. From seed germination to transplanting. Indoor or outside. Smart and creative packaging (add water & the soil grows). Volume is ample & then some. Who knew soil could be attractive in itself. I Topped off my 3 floor standing indoor. Set up 3 germination trays & still enough to fill a "next time" bucket in reserve.Well deserved 5⭐'zThank you for taking the guess work out for me because a hobby should never be "work"

This was my first time buying soil for succulents, and I was really happy with the Back to the Roots mix. When I opened the bag, it did feel slightly damp, but that’s normal for organic soil and it didn’t smell bad at all. The texture is light and drains well, which is important for succulents.I did notice some small twigs and bits of bark, but after learning more, I found out that’s actually good—it helps with airflow and keeps the soil from getting compacted. My plants have been settling in nicely, and I feel confident as a first-time grower that this was the right choice.I also love that it’s organic and made in the USA. For anyone starting out with succulents, this mix is a solid option!
