Great looking vintage land phone that actually works
I ordered this vintage land line phone in black antique to put in my cabin. While my cabin is mostly offline it has always had a land line to it with an old original trimline phone. They recently upgraded the line to a fiber line, and I wanted to upgrade the phone with this vintage looking one which looks great in the cabin. While it looks like it has the old rotary dial, the numbers are actual push buttons, and the center medallion is a redial button. The phone is nice and solid, not flimsy especially the handset with a cloth cord between the body of the phone and the handset. The vintage phone not only looks great, but it also actually works as a phone!

Nice looking, not loud
The ringer is not very loud at all. I barely notice it if I’m just another room away. It is very nice looking, still made of some sort of basic plastic not as sturdy as they once were made but definitely better than some of the other options I saw.

Can Be Plugged in for Phone Calls
This phone has a classic look with a couple of distinctions. The receiver cord is a springy cloth material where it used to be a springy rubber. The rotary dial is actually buttons, but it does state that in the description. Most notably, is the feel. It LOOKS wonderful, but does not have the weight of older plastic. These things used to have some heft. I plugged it it and did not hear a dial tone, but I think it is just the outlet as there has not been a phone there for years. I will dust off another outlet and try again. I'd rate it 5 stars but deducted one star for the light plastic feel.

This is not just for display it actually works
When I ordered this I thought it would be nice to just have a display of an old phone sitting about for people to look at, what I didn't realize is that it actually works. if you have a land line you can plug this in and actually use it. I personally don't have a land line right now but I have a friend that does, so I took it to his house and we plugged it in and used it, and it works great. So now I will be getting a land line put in so I can use it when I don't want to use my cell phone. It reminds of me of when I was a kid, We didn't carry phones around, if someone called and we were not at home they would have to call again later. it's great and I can't wait to get a land line installed so I can use this.

Our Bookshelf's Mythical "Cherry on Top"
We are a huge "object and trinket" household. Carved wood animal sculptures, vases with faces, stoneware bookends, plant pots that smile at you—YOU NAME IT!We are, at present moment, attempting to fill our large, white built-in bookshelves with items that lend a lived-in charm and a whimsical, antique finish. Essentially what we'd imagine would don the personal libraries and office spaces of a Wes Anderson secondary character. This vintage land phone, while coming out of the box shiny and new, has a pretty great finish that still carries a vibe of "antiquated and charming". I'd imagine this is actually on of the products that will look even better the longer we keep it.We are not using this as a conventional landline, although the attached equipment is clearly more than sufficient. However, the actual function itself combines old-school form with more contemporary function. The dial itself is actually "push to call", rather than "rotate the number", which—understandably so—may be a dealbreaker for some. After all, the spinning rotary is kind of part of the whole experience, no?Other than that, however, the phone is really quite a looker, and we're happy to have it gracing shelf #12. Looks right at home.
