I cannot speak to the overall functionality of this product because I am returning it prior to setup. The product has an inherent design flaw; the receiver has a solar charging unit but the sensors do not. What that means is that your are going to have to either install a separate power source, solar or not, for the sensor, or you are going to have to charge it off and on. If you are going to have to go up and get it for charging, that means you have to put it somewhere somewhat accessible. And if it is accessible to you, it is accessible to a thief who can just pop it into his (sorry guys, but yeah his) pocket. I'm sure they would love to have one more thing to pawn. If you are buying this for some general awareness for critters or other innocuous intrusions, you are probably fine. If you are using it to deter human trespassers, porch pirates, or burglars, you need a different product.

It has been in service for only 2 days; it is a quarter of a mile from the house, with line-of-sight of the house, and works.

This is easy to install. We live on a busy road and people seem to think they can just use our driveway. I like to know when someone is coming up my drive.
