Ideal for Woodworking and Shop DIY
I have been looking for alternatives to my mechanical pencil for layout for a while; I just have not found anything that can give me a thin, tight line, so I picked this set up. What drew me to it was the fact there are four scribers in the set and five replacement marking tips for each (20 replacements total). Since I am always misplacing pencils, with 4 of the scribers I have put them in strategic spots in my shop, so now I always have one at hand when needed. The scribers have a nice, pencil-like feel when using them, and since I like to strike a layout line more than once I don’t feel any fatigue in using it and no slipping occurs. The scriber gives a nice, tight line that is thinner than my mechanical pencil provides. I have not seen any deterioration in the tip but then I have primarily used it on wood to this point. To this, one advantage is that the scriber can be used to mark on metal, glass, and plastic, all of which I have struggled to do in the past. The eraser end of the scriber had a built in magnet, which I have found to be useful for picking up small screws when working on electronics (I haven’t used this feature in my garage workshop much, but it is nice to have). This is a nice addition to my shop and a great tool to now have.

Simple, well made, lots of spare tips
I've always used a pencil to mark lines, even when it wasn't the right tool. These scribers will make a nice clean mark without leaving a pencil line. They are easy to grip, have a clip for my pocket and come with lots of extra tips. The include a small metal ruler for good straight lines. Good stuff and a very good price.

Good scribers and extra tips too
I've been using these scribers for a few weeks now and they've done very good for me. They make good lines /marks on whatever I use them on and don't have to worry about the marks rubbing off somehow. The body of the scribes are a little rough / cheaply feeling but that's OK with me because if I loose one, they aren't a lot of money. I like the size of them as well as I can easily use them bare handed or with work gloves on. I also like how they came with replacement tips so for when you wear one out, you can just change it and go.Overall, I'm happy to have them and this has been one of the better things that I've reviewed for the Vine Program.

Works well but could use better quality control and packaging
This scribing set comes with 4 scribers, a ruler and 20 extra tips. It is pretty inexpensive for what you get. I normally use a marking knife when making finishing cuts in wood but a marking knife doesn't do well in some types of wood, like pine because they follow the grain. When I tried these scribers on several species of wood, including pine, they have less of a tendency to follow the grain and follow the ruler or square you're using. A marking knife is easier to make deeper lines with and I found if I wanted to make deep lines, I can first use a scriber and then follow up with a marking knife. For its' intended task, these scribers work very well. However, I took off a star because they came with several scratches and dings. The packaging could be better too. Some of the scratches were likely from the packaging because there's nothing preventing the scribers from rubbing each other and scratching up the paint. The scribers are ok when it comes to comfort. The texture on it serves its' purpose but I would have preferred something a little larger in diameter.

These are great
I love these things. They're the size of a thin pen, are made out of aluminum and have a knurled finish. To replace the tip, just unscrew the tip, take the old one out, put the new one in. They came with a protective rubber cap, so I removed it to touch the tip, and it's sharp. It's great for marking metal, plastic, PVC, plexiglass, etc. Previously, I used to use a permanent marker, or sometimes a scratch awl. But this is what I was looking for because you get better accuracy with a sharp, narrow tip. They give you four of them, and plenty of spare tips. It's marketed for crafting and carving, but I'll be using it to mark where to cut or drill. And last but not least, I like the blue color. The least important aspect for sure, and it depends on your taste, but I like it.

Scribe pens for crafting.
This set comes with 4 scribe “pens,” 20 tip replacements, and a small metal ruler to use as a straight edge. They have a fine tip point for making etched lines on metal or ceramics. The “pens” have a magnet on the other end (where eraser would be) to attach or hang it on a metal surface. They are lightweight (plastic) but seem to be ok quality. These scribe pens are useful for crafting and marking various surfaces.

Works Well!
This scriber is easy to use and is plenty sharp. It is nice that it comes with plenty of replaceable tips. It does a pretty good job marking on wood although I have noticed with softer woods it tends to rip through it instead of mark on it so I will probably only use it on harder woods.

Everything you need for a long while
I wonder if this is a lifetime set of scribes. There are the four scribe pens/markers (which are quite nice), each with an included tip installed. Then there are the bundles of spare tips. So many spare tips.I don't know what else I would ask for from these. They feel solid, they scribe well. All around awesome product.
