Its firmer than a normal picnic blanket which gives a better platform to sit on and put plates and drinks down and is a generous sizeIt feels warm to the touch with a pleasant and smooth surface so crumbs brush off easily.We have nor spilt anything yet so cant comment on the ease of wiping off liquids.The base can be wiped down easily if the ground was damp but I advise letting it dry completely before packing away.Remember to note how it unfolds,that will make folding up again to make use of the carry handles easier :-)

should fold with the underside on the outer so that you dont get all of the grass sticking to it as soon as you put it down to unfold it

Really good size and feels nice but so hard to clean and it started raining a little when I was out and every little raindrop stained it

We normally pack two beach mats, although bulky it easily fits 4 adults lying down. Really pleased with this purchase.

Works well with sufficient cushioning and a good size. A bit on the tricky side to fold if it’s one person though.
