About Kiyomizu-yaki: Kiyomizu-yaki is one of Kyoto‘s representative traditional crafts, originally referring to the pottery made by kilns in the area around Kiyomizu Temple’s approach, known as Kiyomizu-zaka. Today, the term -Kiyomizu-yaki- collectively refers to the pottery produced in areas such as the Kiyomizu-yaki industrial district in Higashiyama and Yamashina wards of Kyoto City, and the Tanbayama area in Uji City.
