Q: Does this treatment help with Oak Wilt?

I would guess that iron injections would be good for most any tree, but I can't speak to Oak Wilt specifically.

Q: is it normal for a small amount of liquid to leak from implant wound?

After I drilled into my River Birch to installed the capsules, my tree wept for months.

Q: I have a red blaze maple and am in utah so it's already starting to drop its leaves for the winter. when is the best time of year to use this?

From everything I've read the best time is in the spring, just as the sap starts running. BTW, I used this for the first time this year on my pin oaks and the difference was incredible. One oak would bloom normally in April, grow full leaves for about a month or so then by June the leaves would turn yellow/brown and by July they'd look like they do in October. Added this to all 3 trees this spring and all 3 are still nicely green and healthy now, even with a near drought condition this summer where I live. Only used it once but it has worked great - no complaints!

Use it in early spring when the sap starts to flow, and the best results are if it's used on Pin Oak trees. You can try it on any tree (minimum 6" diameter trunk I believe) and see if it does any good. It's mostly just an iron supplement which will green up leaves but won't do much of anything else. But if you have a pin oak with yellow leaves in June this stuff is amazing - works like a charm!
