If i place this in front of my standing tv, will it block the ir sensor for the tv remote?

I just pulled the sound bar forward a bit and IR usually works fine with the smallest of viewable range. This is a superb product. I don't tend to have it on all the time...movies and certain tv programmes are so much better with it on.

What kind of power conection does it use. And what are the batteries for?

The sound bar is powered by a standard cable with a 13amp plug and the batteries are for the remote control. The base woofer is also powered by a standard cable with a 13amp socket.

Will it connect to a Sky Q box?

It connects to your TV, and plays the sound that would come out of your TV speaker
