Printstar OPC Drum Compatible with HP HP 36A, 35A, 78A, 83A, 88A and Canon 328, 337, 912, 925 Printers, Pack of 20 (Green) PrintStar ABOUT PRODUCT: Organic Photo Conductor Drum (OPC or Imaging Drum) The OPC drum is a thin walled aluminum-layered, cylindrical drum that is coated with specially pigmented photo conductive substances. The laser strikes the OPC surface, creating an image one line at a time. The toner is then transferred from the surface of the OPC to the paper by the transfer roller. Steps to replace the drum unit: A drum unit is a maintenance item for your printer that will sometimes need to be replaced but not as often as a toner cartridge. Step1: Open the front flap of your laser printer and find the drum unit will be attached to or beneath the toner cartridge(s). Step2: Pull any green toner locking levers down to release the cartridge and then slowly pull the cartridge towards yourself and out of the machine. Place the toners on a flat protected surface. Step3: On the toner cartridge(s) there will be a green lever that can be pressed to lift the toner off the drum unit. Step4: The drum unit can then be replaced and toner locked back into place on top of the new drum. Step5: Re-insert both toner and drum back into your printer.
