Q: At what point on the size scale does the 3-string (G) become a wound string? Individual string dimension should be stated in the specs.

Usually a wound 3rd is clearly stated on strings packaging, as that is a salient feature. You will find this often in electric sets 12-52, usually labelled "Heavy" or "Jazz." In most cases the wound G string starts at .021 or .022, but I've seen sets that wind the g at .018-.019. I know this is more general info and not related to Elixir, but I'm guessing it applies to their strings, too.

Yes. This is for one set. I'm pretty sure these strings were never available for $3/set. Maybe it was a different brand of strings?
