A+ Helmet, can't go wrong
this is my second Shoei helmet and I am sold completely. I went from a Scorpion Helmet, which was a fine product to Shoei, and the difference in noise reduction has been amazing. For the money this is one of the quietest helmets you can get, and the build quality is top notch. I think it's made in Japan so no surprise there about the quality. The internal parts are easy to manipulate and work, which is really welcome when you are trying to install a bluetooth device, I have a Sena 30 and it fits no problem. Small gripe is that I wish the speaker pockets were a little deeper, but you get used to it.The weight of the helmet is manageable and it comes with a pinlock system installed already, which is a very nice touch. It also comes with a chin curtain which is a MUST for me. I won't get a helmet without one.I can wear this helmet for hours in comfort and when I remove it after a days riding, i feel no pressure, sore spots or stiff neck at all.Shoei is a top notch brand and while these may be more expensive than some of the competitors, they are absolutely worth the extra money, and when you experience how quiet they are compared to other brands, your ears will thank you.

A gorgeous, WHISTLY helmet.
I wanted to love this helmet so so so much. It's absolutely gorgeous in its simplicity. It feels so well built, the padding is excellent, and the matte finish is stunning. With all that said... If you are a visor up rider about 35 mph, do not buy this helmet. There is a horrible and extremely loud whistle. It's apparently just an issue with this helmet. I read about it, but didn't think it would be that bad. It is.If this was half the cost, I would've lived with it, but I know hearing that whistle every time I rode through town would remind me that I spent $400 on a whistle, so I returned it. With the visor down, this helmet is whisper quiet, but I don't go visor down until higher speeds. The vents are fantastic, so if you need to go visor down, it's got the cooling for it.There is tons of visibility, it feels great, and it looks amazing, but the whistle killed it for me. I still rated it highly because not everyone is a visor up rider as often as I am.Update: So I ended up going with a Scorpion EXO Covert FX instead of this. It also whistles obnoxiously with the visor up. Unfortunately I dropped and damaged it almost immediately so I couldn't return it, but had I been able to, I would've bought this Shoei again because the build quality is so far superior.I miss this Shoei so much that I'll be buying one for next year, and I'll just ride visor down like a normal person.

Well engineered and feature rich. Love it.
My first helmet was an Arai as the sales staff said that was the only model that would fit me. This Shoei helmet fits my head perfectly and is so much better at the same price point. The visor is so much easier to open when wearing it, and changing the visor takes literally two snaps. It comes with a chin curtain to reduce wind seepage, and a breath guard which goes a long way to preventing your visor from fogging up. You almost don’t need the antifog insert which improves clarity.

Shoei quality at a great price.
This is a great helmet. Relatively quiet. Shoei fit and finish. Well ventilated and light fairly light weight. Great price for Shoei quality and protection.

Nice brain bucket!
Using the manufacturer's sizing guide, I ordered a large helmet. I guess the fit is correct, but it's pretty snug on my head. My ears take a bit of a beating when I slide it on or off. It does feel secure though, so I guess that's good. The build quality is very nice, and it comes with a detachable anti-fog inner shield that I haven't yet installed. I added a Sena 50R communicator to it without problems. It's nice that the inner padding can be removed and then snapped back into place. The top vents do a nice job of controlling air flow. The chin vent is hard to assess as I have a windshield on my bike. The optics of the face shield are very good - almost no distortion - and the positioning cogs are very positive, so it stays where you put it.Shoei makes a high-end product. I liked it well enough to buy a second in medium for passengers. I prefer a full-face helmet to one with a movable chin piece; I am skeptical of the structural integrity of modular lids. Anyway, I'm happy with it - probably the best helmet I've ever owned.

Just buy it already, trust me.
Coming from Icon Airmada, airframe pro, variant, and Bell Qualifier DLX MIPS in all my years of riding I always tried to find good quality and comfort for an affordable price. All of which are within about 100 dollars from this helmet. This helmet did not disappoint, the quality of the venting and the padding inside, the visibility, and the look of the helmet. All my other helmets feel like budget helmets compared to this tbh.. This will be my new bottom line, won't buy anything less. Have the CRW1 Gold reflective visor for sunny days and the clear with pinlock for bad weather and night time. My only complaint about these helmets are the price of the visor. 100 dollars for a tinted one and over 150 for transition. It fits pretty true to size and fits a comm system well. It's a intermediate oval helmet so the microphone will be a little close to your mouth but just moving it to the side a little bit got it out of the way and still sounds good. 10/10 would recommend.
