World famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (1898 - 1976) designed this vase named after him. Aalto was inspired by Finnish nature with its shapes to his modern style, which made him one of the most famous Finnish designers. Aalto designed the Aalto vase in 1936. At that time, the asymmetrical wave shape and the simple beauty seemed almost revolutionary. He won a competition in which new Finnish design was sought for the World Fair in Paris. Now the Aalto is considered a symbol of glass design of the 20th century. It is mouth-blown and a real masterpiece of glassblowing art. Thanks to their shape, the flowers can be rearranged again and again.
