THE fix for patellar tracking disorder
After dealing with patellar tracking issues on and off for 10+ years, I finally discovered this brace that lets me continue exercising without aggravating the condition. Continuing to exercise through a patellar tracking flare-up is essential, because maintaining strong muscles is a must for stabilizing the knee. Yet exercising can be tricky because, without properly supporting the knee, the impact and stress of exercise can make the knee feel worse.I've tried at least two other types of knee brace, and they were better than nothing but didn't do much. This brace is the only thing I've found that is designed such that it effectively addresses a loose kneecap. It does this by way of a thick, hard pad that gently pushes the kneecap into proper alignment and holds it there.I don't think this brace would help much with anything other than patellar tracking. It doesn't provide much compression. I don't have arthritis so can't say for sure, but I doubt this brace would help with that, and I think it's underrated here because people tried it for arthritis and it didn't help.A couple of tips for using this brace for patellar tracking problems:- Wear the brace as much as possible, but definitely while exercising. It will make all the difference in range of motion, impact tolerance, and in how strenuously you can exercise. When you're not exercising, it still works well to support your daily activities and gradually train the kneecap to stay where it belongs.- Do NOT overtighten the brace. Intuitively, I wanted to wear the brace extra tight, thinking this would result in faster recovery from my flare-up. But overtightening it made things worse, causing pain on the outside of the kneecap, where I'd never had it before. In my experience, the brace works best when it is tightened just short of the point of actual tension. The straps should feel slightly loose. This seems like it wouldn't work, but it does.I love this thing and am tempted to buy more of them just in case it gets taken off the market.

Garbage product
My physical therapist recommended this specific knee brace for me after a lateral patella dislocation 2 months ago. I was skeptical based on reviews, but it’s the least bulky brace I could find for a decent price. More skeptical taking the package from the mailbox based on how light it was.So disappointed as soon as I opened it, you can tell how cheaply made it is. I am 5’2” 120 lbs, the brace fit okay but the opening for the kneecap was entirely to small and the “supporting” piece (which is made from some version of Styrofoam) is not properly aligned so it goes over the opening and pushes on my kneecap causing pain before even strapping it in all the way. You cannot adjust the opening to move it over slightly for the support to be where it should be, and it does not sit flush against the side of the leg when strapped.Feels like an overpriced Wish.com item, could’ve gotten better quality for cheaper. Almost immediately submitted for return and will tel doc to never recommend this again.

Wowzers! It works!!
This was my third knee brace to try. I have been determined to avoid surgery as long as possible, but the never-ending pain was really getting to me. Getting up from being seated/the bed, turning over in bed, & navigating any amount of steps was total misery. I put this on.... first of all, it is big enough!!! What a wonder. I decided it was a little loose and easily tightened it. Hey, it feels pretty good. Just sat still for a minute to appreciate and "feel." Then I got up easily - very little pain - and started walking around the room....without the cane I have used the entire morning. Almost NO twinges. Very slight. Call me ASTONISHED. Truly. Of course I don't know if your knee has the same problems as my knee, but I am impressed and very happy with my new brace. In fact, I''m going to order another for my other knee which isn't nearly as bad, but maybe using the brace will keep it from getting bad. It's certainly worth a try. I'm thrilled to find a brace big enough for my legs, easy to use & adjust, and IT WORKS. ********update after several days******* I have tried a simpler brace that is lighter weight and at first I really liked it. But now the simpler one won't stay up, so this brace is back on my knee and working. I will continue to use it despite the fact that I think the long straps are rather cumbersome. However, because of the long straps and long velcro, it is easy to adjust to "exactly right." That is always good.

This brace has saved me
I have a severely arthritic kneecap that will require knee replacement eventually. This condition is genetic and nothing I can do to alleviate it. I'm only 42 and I've been struggling with kneecap movement due to this for years. It can cause extreme pain. I wear this brace every day of my life and have for years. I have worn out my favorite one! It has saved my life and I'm not exaggerating. Without it, I would be disabled and unable to function. Because it offers kneecap stability and support my pain has greatly decreased. I can walk and so daily activities (except stairs) and am prolonging my need for surgery. Thankful is an understatement! My only complaint with these braces is that the newer ones have straps that are too long, making it hard to secure. It's like they used bigger straps on a smaller size sleeve. The sleeve fits but the straps are long. My original one is not like this. I've bought at least 6 of this style. If you struggle with patellar instability due to any condition, I highly recommend this brace and avoiding stairs at all costs. It will save your life.
