Works better over time! Badabum! I think the sands take a few turns for it to flow smoothly. Had to shake it to keep it going first few times. Its 2 minutes on the nose. Double checked that.

Perfect for kids! Plastic, so it’s safe. Shade of blue is awesome. It’s a 30 minute timer which is great for young children. 30 minutes is an easier concept of time. It’s a good purchase!

Little hard to see when the sand has run out - need to keep it on a white background. We use it to tell us when to raise the blinds during poker night. 15 minute timer - runs out in 15 minutes and 20 seconds, plus or minus a second or two. Close enough. No issues with construction quality.

For Rummikub.., I would prefer it be a little bigger for us senior with not the best eye sight!

With all the new games, especially the Nintendo Switch, my elementary-aged grandchildren can get carried away by playing for hours if not guided. We use these hour timers to give them an hour to play before they must do something else. We bought two, one for each grandchild, The blue works perfectly, but the green sticks at times and the sand will not go through. After giving it a good shake, it behaves and starts working again.

It's actually kinda bigger than I initially expected. Somehow I thought it'd be like the sand timers from a board game, but it was like 5x bigger making it easier to read. Measured the time and found it to be 6 seconds slow, but that appears to be expected as it say "+/- 10%" right on top of the timer. Very handy for kids to make sure they're brushing their teeth the full 2 minutes.

I ordered 2 of these timers. One was just a tube, the inner part that holds the sand and the sand were missing. The other doesn’t work, sand will not pass from one chamber to the other. It’s not worth returning them and I definitely don’t want a replacement. I had to choose a 1 star rating to be able to write a review, however they deserve 0 stars.

I bought this product to keep students on task for a longer time period. It has worked wonders in my classroom. Such an amazing visual for students to monitor themselves.
