Do not buy this product…
Do not buy this product!!! It’s super cheaply made, i just installed my second one in 3 months and immediately after installing it won’t work on 1,2,or3. It only works on 4. And the heat/cool knob is difficult to turn and it’s so fragile I’m afraid to put any pressure to turn it. It’s just made out of cheap plastic and very easily broken. Do not buy this product, I don’t want to see anyone else get ripped off like I did!!! Twice!!!

Works great in my Chevy truck
This was a DIY purchase and installation. I found that I was having to turn my heat all the way up before it began circulating. So naturally I thought the control panel was the problem, that the contact board had worn away with use and age. Rather than taking it to a mechanic and being charged parts and labor, I opted to try replacing it myself. The unit I purchased from this seller was the perfect replacement for my 2004 Chevy truck heating/air controller. I already had the trim kit, so I watched a couple of videos, went to the truck and within 30 min. had the replacement in and working. So needless to say, I am very pleased with this unit. And I'm very pleased with myself for taking the plunge and doing the work for myself.

GM Vent Blower Issues
GM messed up with the cab air intake and blower systems for venting on these Colorados and Canyons.Earlier models do not have air intake filters after the cowling so leaves and junk can get inside the blower housing. When a blower motor turns on it surges higher amperage till it spins up to speed then the amperage drops back down. If leaves and junk are in the blower motor housing as its grunting trying to get up to designed speed then amperage stays highCouple this scenario with GM cheaped out on ground connections and ganged the wires together in a splice back mounted to the passenger side front fender that have a tendency to create resistance which ohms law means more amps. And GM used cheap connector spring type pins that fail or make intermitant contact. The blower is rated at roughly 3amps though the fuse under the hood is 20A.The GM wiring connectors resistor pack, connectors and speed control selector wiring interface are not rated for 20A.But the factory fuse (GM Mistake) says it is cause it never blows and one or everything else (Wires and Switch Connectors) literally burn up cause the blower never draws 20A before something wire/connector amperage connected fails. There are connectors in the passenger kick panel , behind the glove box , resistor pack, and the speed control that this product has.GM wont sell a speed control switch by itself so 2 screws and pull the knob works for me..I went thru a junk yard and every early canyon or colorado they had burns on pin 3 of the resistor pack.As an Fyi the max resistance to the blower should be under 4 ohms thru the resistor pack.. speed 4 (high speed) should be zero ohm from frame / battery ground to the motor . This products blower vent speed selector is switching ground to 3 different resistors that output to the blower motor.Speed selector 4 travels the same wiring route but bypasses around the resistors but does travel thru the resistor pack..You can find schematics online.Locating the actual problem is a pain in some cases but scorched connectors tell the story of GM's Bad DesignAs for this product control panel the blower speed control works fine and is alot cheaper than buying a panel from GM.
