Good buy
Consumers are loaded with so many electromagnetic field radiation devices and appliances in their homes or workplace it’s hard to get away from these things. The only thing we can do is distance ourselves from it when charging devices or when using appliances. I had a feeling electromagnetic field radiation was emitting out of devices and appliances, but I didn’t know how much. Now I know. I’m thankful for devices like the KENMIC EMF Meter.I purchased 3-in-1 model EMF meter. The digital display is easy to read. The EMF meter has 3 colors, green, orange and red. The build quality is good. The sensitivity seems very good. Ease of use is good. The manual is written in understandable English for any buyer that’s new to these EMF testing products. I like the Orange Alert color on meter to show me that’s a detected starting point for electromagnetic field radiation. When the EMF meter gets closer to a device or appliance the Red HIGH Alert shows on the display with a rapid flashing light and sound.I tested various devices and some appliances in my home. Here’s the test results after using the KENMIC EMF Meter.1. Nightstand Electric Alarm Clock: EMF Orange Alert at 6 inches.2. LED Bulbs: EMF Orange Alert at 1 ft.3. Cellphone (Not Charging): EMF Orange Alert only. Cellphone (Charging): EMF Orange Alert at 2 ft. EMF HIGH RED ALERT at 6 inches from cellphone.4. Tablet 10-inch (Not Charging): EMF Orange Alert only. Tablet 10-inch (Charging): EMF Orange Alert at 2 ft. EMF HIGH RED ALERT at 6 inches from tablet.5. Household Standing Fan: EMF Orange Alert at 1 ft.6. Air Purifier (408 sq ft): EMF Orange Alert at 2 ft. EMF HIGH RED ALERT when the meter touches the air purifier.7. Smart TV 43-inch: EMF Orange Alert at 5 ft. EMF HIGH RED ALERT when the meter is inches close to the TV.8. WiFi Router: EMF Orange Alert at 2 ft. EMF HIGH RED ALERT when the meter is 1 inch from the router.9. Microwave: EMF HIGH RED ALERT at 2 ft.10. Air Fryer (Plugged/Not Cooking): EMF Orange Alert at 6 inches. Air Fryer (Plugged/Cooking): EMF Orange Alert at 4 ft. EMF HIGH RED ALERT at 12 inches from air fryer.11. Refrigerator (Plugged): No EMF Alert warnings.Tips:1. Don’t use a cellphone when plugged into a wall outlet while it’s charging. Don’t talk on a cellphone held next to your ear while it’s charging. Don’t touch the cellphone screen while it’s charging. Unplug it from the outlet or wait until the charging is completed.2. Don’t use a tablet when plugged into a wall outlet. Wait until the charging is completed.3. Place a WiFi router a minimum of 2 feet away from people. Don’t place it on top of your home desk.4. Place a 408 sq ft air purifier 2 feet away from you.5. When using a microwave, stay away at least 2 feet. Don’t stand close to it or close up to the door to see how your food is cooking.6. When using an air fryer, stay away 2 feet or more.7. When using an LED TV, stay at least 4 ft away from it. The bigger the screen the more distance to stay away. After using the KENMIC EMF Meter, I am more aware of making sure I keep a safe distance while using the microwave and air fryer. I do not use my cellphone or tablet while it’s charging. My Smart TV is mounted on a wall and where I sit it’s 6 feet away from me. I did have to move my air purifier about another foot from my bed because it was too close. My wifi router is located where no one is next to it. Hope this information is useful.

Works as advertised
Works well but if you don't hold it properly it will affect the readings. Pretty easy to learn how to use it. I was surprised at how much ambient RF there is all around. We live in a sea of it. Got a lot of very high readings in unexpected places. I ended up shielding my surrounding bed frame as much as possible. I could tell my body's magnetic field affected readings as well.

Handy
Bought this and a “cage” for a new internet modem that has to be kept in a family area to get the best signal. I wanted to see if the cage worked at minimizing emf from the device…it didn’t and actually emf went up when h put the cage over it. I was happy to have this and have used randomly around the house for curiosity purposes since

who would have guessed that lamp made that much RF noise while off?
Who would have thought the the led bulb in the lamp on my bed headboard was radiating so much noise while it was off! Unplugged that bad boy right away. Cellphones naturally generate some noise but that's what the speaker phone is for. It seems to work great, display turns red in hot spots also giving audible warning. Rechargable makes it ready to go without waiting (as long as you charge it of course).

Good product for the price
Works as advertised, helped me track down RF interference with my Ham Radio

No way to check calibration or accuracy. Provides relevant results only.
Without knowing the actual accuracy of this device, all it is good for it indicating if one source is emitting more than another. It is not suitable for precise measurements. No means to test and calibrate it either. An interesting gizmo at best.

NOT so useless meter
This device supposedly measures Electric Radiation, Magnetic Radiation, and Temperature. The temperature measurement seems to be just a gimmicky add-on to the circuitry to be able to say it’s a 3-in-1 meter.Based on the readings of this unit, every electric item I use in my home is emitting harmful electric field radiation. This includes my computer monitors, my computer, my flat-screen TV, the heating pad in my bed, my lamp, and even my alarm clock. I have to remember that distance is key. Although I’d have to be so far away from my computer, I wouldn’t be able to use it. The heating pad in my bed puts out as many V/m at 18 inches—even when it’s turned off, as my flat screen TV does at 24 inches. And I use the heating pad directly on my body. Any reading above 40 V/m is supposedly “harmful.” Apparently, they’re suggesting we should live without electricity. When I hold the meter near any electrical outlet with nothing plugged in, or wall light switch, it reads a harmful electric field. When I hold it near a power strip: harmful electric field. When I hold it near a electric component timer: harmful electric field — even when the timer is turned off.To measure microwave leakage, this unit is designed to measure Volts per Meter. Microwave radiation is typically measured in milliVolts per centimeter, so unless you have other things you want to measure, you should get a microwave leakage detector. Although, it works out to just being a multiple of ten: that is, 46 V/m = 460 mV/cm, but they don't tell you that.In addition, when measuring my microwave with this meter, it reads a high level of milligauss, which is typically not the type of radiation that concerns us with a Microwave Oven. In any case, this device measures 46 Volts/meter when my Microwave Oven is not even running, but doesn’t increase when the microwave is running. I’m having trouble making sense of that.As for the temperature meter, it says my bedroom is 81.6 degrees Fahrenheit. My other thermometers all say it’s around 75 degrees Fahrenheit.Update 2024-10-14After additional research, I've discovered my issue is not with this meter, which seems to be doing exactly what it is designed to do. Instead, my issue is with reality. We're being bombarded with Electric and Magnetic fields in ways I had never thought possible. The question remains how much this affects my health.I still don't understand why the Magnetic radiation from my microwave is the same whether it's running or not. The similar measurement regarding heating pads I use on my bed whether on or off is also a puzzle. But I now give the meter 5 stars. It's doing what it's supposed to do.
