As an Electrical Engineering student focusing on Embedded Systems, i was looking for a good kit to learn and practice electronics at home. I’ve ordered the SunFounder ESP32 Starter Kit about a week ago, and for the price, it offers great value. Pros: - Good quality components - Well-documented website with plenty of project guides - A wide variety of sensors and components to experiment with Cons: Haven’t found any so far. The installation and setup only took a few minutes. The kit includes a link to the setup guide, which made the process smooth and simple. I built the basic blinking LED project before writing this review, and everything worked flawlessly. Overall, I’m really pleased with this kit. In my opinion, it’s a great choice for beginners and students to dive into embedded programming and electronics.

I recently started to build projects for Home Assistant using ESPHome with ESP32-based devices and 3D printed enclosures. Using brute-force I built a few sensors and managed to brick 2 different ESP32 modules in the process. So, I figured it might be time to learn not to do that. I bought this kit and started right away by following the self-paced learning on the Sunfounder website and YouTube. The lessons are pretty clearly written and the pictures are very helpful. The YouTube videos are a bit repetitive, but actually pretty helpful. There is a lot of info! Some lessons are a bit dated, which I skipped (like Telegram), but I appreciate the wide scope. I got stuck a few times, but eventually got everything working, and learned a lot in the process. I did not do the MicroPython or Scratch lessons, but again, I appreciate it being covered if I ever need it. The kit itself is literally overflowing with parts (I can't even close it!) and has pretty much everything covered. I will probably put some of it to good use in my Home Assistant projects. My only complaint is the large breadboard, which is the only one that was used, is really cheap and totally warped. To be fair, finding a quality breadboard these days is like finding the Holy Grail! But the Camera Extension Board totally makes up for it. So, about those 2 bricked ESP32 modules... Immediately after finishing the training, I got one working and is now in service! The other one took a bit more coaxing, but eventually brought it back from the dead (on Halloween night, nonetheless!) If you want to learn ESP32 and Arduino IDE for Home Assistant projects (and much, much more), I highly recommend this kit.

I am satisfied with the kit, and I have been able to run my project. I would recommend this kit to an EE aspiring.

Very helpful tutorials! Learnt so much stuff in such a short period of time after getting my hands on this kit. It contains a lot of the material you’d need to start making amazing projects! Totally recommend.

Best value for money if you’re curious about learning, micro controllers, everything that they include, you can start building all things that you want and knowing how to design these boards

セットの内容はすごくいい。 ただ付属の18650の電池はどう充電すればいいのか分からない(回路に繋いで充電するわけでもないと思う)

PRO : The kit is comprehensive. CON: The support is useless. The first project example works fine, the second and third do not. They both have compiler errors as also found by other users. I’ve contacted the provider three times, they ask for the error and then do not reply. CONCLUSION: if you are just after the parts to experiment with, it maybe worth it, but if this is a learning exercise for you, then buy something with better support. It’s a pity as this could have been a valuable learning resource.
