MORryde - SP54-099 StepAbove Storage Box

Makes for great use of otherwise wasted space. Install was a breeze. We used foam weather seal on the door to make it close tighter. Even got lucky and the lock on the box uses the same exact key as our compartments!

We chose the storage box for a number of reasons. The number one reason was ease of installation. Yes, installation was a snap. I had already removed the original steps. That task was easy as well. Took about 30 minutes. The other more expensive brand would have never worked because of the design of my camper. All of the under carriage is covered including the frame. Back to the installation. It only took about 20 minutes. I did have to hacksaw the bolts from the original bracket to allow the door to close. Not a big deal.This box is not near as heavy as the other brand. But it is very well built and is perfect for storing those first items you need to get set up. I put in my leveling blocks and wheel chocks .I am very happy with this purchase and will recommend it to my fellow campers.

This is a decent box but not perfect. It has the same garbage cam locks you find everywhere in the RV world - you can jiggle it open with a paperclip. But it's a standard size and easy to replace (we rekeyed all our storage bins with tubular pin locks, which aren't perfect either but are better).The mounting is a little less solid than I'd like. It "hangs" on two brackets that you install first, and then you put a screw in each side that's more or less a friction-fit to press against the brackets and firm everything up. It works OK but it's not very sturdy - I would recheck the torque regularly, and lock-tite everything. I don't see a specific weight rating but it's just one simple box made out of what I'm guessing is 18ga mild steel so I wouldn't load it with more than 35-50lbs max.My biggest issue is the sealing. The door closes with an "overlap" lip around the box, which is a good start, but it's definitely not great at keeping dust or water out. I drilled two small holes in the bottom panel to let anything drain if needed, and I plan to add some thin weatherstripping around the door lip.It's a box. It's the right size to fill that spot. So it's not perfect, but if that's what you're looking for, this is it.

First off fit and finish was perfect. Package came about 2 days early which was super nice. Took it out of the box and first thing I noticed was the quality of it. Built very sturdy and super easy to read instructions. Very simple install. Took me about 15 mins to get it all hooked up and ready to go. My only complaint which really isn't one would be the fact that it's only a key to get it open. Would be nice if it had a handle on it that you could lock or not lock that way you wouldn't have to always have the key with you. Other than that it was a perfect fit and I am very happy with it.

Installed into the opening where the old flimsy steps once lived. Installed easily (about 10 minutes). Fits tight against the top and looks much better than the open space/void. Made an adjustment to allow the door to close enough to lock. It would be even better if the unit included a strip of weatherproofing/water protection (I will be adding my own). Box feels strong. The lock feels as secure as anything else in this class.

Purchased the unit for my 2011 trailer not knowing what I may have to do to fit it to the unit. NO PROBLEM! Everything fit together perfectly.If you plan to put anything in the unit that you don’t want to get wet you will need to put a sealing tape around some of the joints.

Put sturdier steps on my trailer the type that fold up inside. This left the outside steps obsolete. I added this tool box for extra storage and the installation was easy. The extra storage was useful. One thing I did not like was the fact that the tool box was not water tight. I addressed this myself but why something of this price does not include waterproofing I do not know. It is designed to go outside water proofing seems a reasonable item to be included. With that said, the product does what I needed it to do.

Very strong! It’s my 2nd one as l grazed a steel post turning my 37’er in a tight spot. I think it saved my rv from more damage! I could instal it in my sleep now! I’m a 71 year old grandma.

Awesome use of the space once old steps removed. Extra room for storage and gives the camper a finished look.
