Grumbacher Academy Watercolor Paint - Payne's Gray is a transparent Blue-Black named for the English Watercolorist William Payne (1760-1820) who introduced it in his work in the late 18th Century. Its primary modern use is for toning down colors and for creating shadows. Academy Watercolor is a collegiate line of 60 paints at an affordable price.
