Excellent Action, Firm Positioning, Stable Clamp, Great Range
I needed an arm that I could mount to a 'table' from above and behind my equipment. To do this I needed a scissor arm that was long enough (40"+) and could be used flipped 'backwards'. The upper arm springs are large very tight (a good thing) and would pull the upper arm back up several inches when I tried to use it flipped backwards. However, these springs can be easily detached if needed, so by disabling one of the two upper arm springs, the remaining spring offerred just the right amount of resistance for the perfect positioning of my device. :)What I'm trying to say is that this item is not only durable, but also very versatile.

Good design and good quality, especially considering the price
This is well made. Feels reliable, but only time will tell. Over 10 years ago, I bought a Heil Microphone Boom which cost close to $100. That unit is sturdy and after all these years is still perfectly functional. But I needed a second microphone boom at a different location so I started to search Amazon. Surprised to see the significantly lower prices offered by alternative products, including this one. Some of them just a little bit over $10. This one is in the 30s, and the reviews seemed to indicate that it might be better built than other units. So I bought it. I can't compare it with the ones that are even cheaper, but this is perfectly functional, well-designed, and feels rather sturdy as well. I was pleasantly surprised, I should say.I did not use the alternative desk amount, but it seemed like a good idea for some people or on some occasions.Only shortcoming: it did not come with a microphone holder, which I expected. It caused a bit of a logistical problem for me because when I brought the thing to my office, I was expecting to be able to set it up and use it right away. But now I have to wait a little bit longer to get a microphone holder. No big deal for the extra cost, but it's definitely an unexpected frustration.

Decent, sturdy, long enough
It's pretty decent as you see in the pic and it's long enough. Works great. The reason I took one star is because they only include 2 velcro tie downs, they should include 4 I had to use zip-ties. Then the velcro ties are too long for the cable Blue provides and the cable sits loose so again I used zip-ties. Also the butterfly screws are real stiff I had to tie them with a pair of pliers. Some people say that the arm doesn't fit well inside the table top mount (the mount you have to bolt on the top of the desk). I bought this arm just for this option and it fits in there very well, no issues. It's a great product buy this arm if you want a sturdy versatile product.

Great microphone arm stand
I purchased this microphone arm because it seemed like it would provide more length for my computer desk. It length and reach of the arm when extended was excellent and met my expectations. The arma comes with a clamp style clip or the type which can be screwed down to the surface . The bottom end of the arm is a rod that go into the clamp and another knob is tightened to secure the rod to the clamp. The top end of the arm has the smaller threads or the gold looking bolt that can be screwed over the small threads for mics needs that large threads. I used the large gold thread and it screwed into my mic holder perfectly. The elbow on the arm has a knob for tightening as does the wrist of the arm. Even with them feeling hand tight, the arm still moves around well and holds in place to whatever position I need to be.Hopefully my picture helps you out in your own selection of a mic arm

Durable and works. Surface mounting flange isn’t perfect out of the box. Needs work *read*
Excellent value. This product competed with the best and at half the cost i think its outstanding. Very sturdy and durable build. Excellent functionality with versatile mounting. I can see this lasting a very long time. Will probably buy another one. (I have bought another one since writing this) My only problem is the flange mount that drills into the table just doesnt go deep enough so the arm wobbles around in it. But oh well. ***edit**** so i got out my corded drill and screwed the flange into a 2x4 then clamped that into a vice and drilled out the flange all the way through with a 15/32 drill bit I believe.. anyways, now the arm goes all the way into the flange and its sturdy AF. Works like a charm 100% product will recommend. I have two now and i love them.

Springs are noisy!
If you move the mic around a lot while recording (especially if you're doing something live, i.e. not pre-recorded), be aware that the metal rings which mount the springs to the arm will get briefly caught on one of the arms during certain movements, and then snap back, producing a very loud and very jarring "TWAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG" noise, which will be picked up very clearly on your mic (even if you have a good quality shock mount), because it's just *that* loud! If you can afford the more expensive springless models, go with that. If you can't afford a better one, then just be mindful of what positions will make the rings catch, and try to avoid them. Otherwise, it's not too bad. It mostly stays in place. The main arms can easily support the weight of heavier mics like the Blue Yeti, but be warned that the last tiny arm (the one the mic actually mounts onto) has a tougher time supporting the weight of heavier mics, and if you want it to stay put, you'll need to ***really*** torque that wingnut down to keep it in place, and even then, it might still fall down.

Works well, simple install
I've used it for a little while now, I have a Blue Yeti Nano attached to it so nothing huge on that end. Supports nicely, moves well when needed and is easy to install. Good product for simple mic use.

Well constructed
This Microphone Suspension Scissor Boom Arm works as advertised, was super simple to set up and actually holds my 5-pound mic without so much as a wiggle. I bump the desk it's on all the time, and it never moves. It well constructed and worth the price.

If you're looking for a boom arm, spend the extra few bucks on this one
Honestly, I've burned through about 4 of the cheaper models. I have different mics that have different weights, however, I decided to switch to an XLR Mic setup. So, due to the weight of the microphone I got (AT2020) I needed to opt for a heavier duty stand. This one is the best bang for your buck if you aren't looking towards the Rode boom arm which is over double this price. The mobility and length of the arm is a lot more forgiving and has a lot more degree of movability. Let alone the fact that you can drill it right into the desk instead of the normal c-clamp style alone.Definitely would purchase again, and would HIGHLY recommend this over the cheaper ones.

Sturdy stand for the money
This mic stand is great value for the money. It holds my Blue Yeti Nano mic and metal shock mount no problem. I even lowered the spring tension and it’s still sturdy and works perfectly. It holds any position, and gives more vertical and horizontal extension than most stands of this type. The clamp works perfectly on the edge of my desk, and it comes with a second mount for a more permanent installation but I didn’t use it. Great value. Hopefully it holds up over time.

Nice mic arm. Horrible permanent base
The arm that the microphone works good. If you can use the clamp then I would suggest getting this. If you're buying this because it has the permanent base that drills into the desk then don't bother. The permanent base wont fit the microphone arm, it goes in partway so the arm isn't securely in and will teeter back forth anytime its touched. I requested a replacement and they sent another one out to me, great customer service. But the base fit the exact same way as the last one. I can only assume it was designed as intended and I didn't just get batch of lemons. Horrible quality assurance.Get it if you can use the clamp, don't get it if you're looking to use the desk mount you drill in.

Unbeatable for the price
Well constructed, if inelegant (no cable management) and rock solid when adjusted. I have a 3-pound condenser mic with shock mount, and it holds on quite well. One note about range of motion, you have to loosen the fastening bolt to get it to swivel 360. Otherwise, a very helpful, obedient piece of gear.

Perfect long arm for blue Yeti with Shock mount
It's long enough to come all the way to me from the back of my large desk, and go over my monitor without blocking at all. It's very strong but easy to move and stays where I put it. Easy to set up. Adapter is the right size. Nice arm, easily the best one I own.
