I work in the construction industry and outside during colder times of the year. This is perfect for keeping me comfortable and meeting the safety requirements of the job site. I normally wear a size medium so that is what I ordered. This fits more like a large on me. It will allow me to wear heavier layers underneath when the days get colder, but I prefer a snugger fit.The workmanship on the jacket is great. The stitching is clean and professional and the reflective material meets the safety requirements for visibility. The hood does indeed fit over a hardhat and comfortably too, this is a great feature that I wouldn't have thought of.All-in-all, if you are looking for a warm safety jacket, this one is great, but I would recommend ordering one size smaller than you normally do.

I got this because sometimes I walk when it is not very light outside, so the bright color and reflective stripes are important to me. It is a medium weight, too warm for summer weather and not enough for winter. The fleece lining gives it a warm feel. It has cuffs in the sleeve with thumb holes so that the sleeves stay in place and provides a snug fit. It is sized somewhat larger than I expected, especially the sleeves are long. The ample size does make it feasible to wear over a jacket in cooler weather, which is a good thing.

For size reference, the sleeve length of the Small size is good for a 5'5, 160 lbs man. The shoulder & body length is slightly too long but it does allow you to wear layers if needed. The hood is attached with buttons rather than zipper so you can still feel wind draft at the neck and it doesn't have a draw cord. The 2 interior pockets are deep but not closed with zipper or velcro so contents can potential fall out. There is draw cords at bottom of jacket you can cinch so no draft will enter your belly or back. The reflective coating is highly visible at all times and reflective strips will help at night. However, keep in mind that the instructions limit washing this coat to 25 times only, probably due to the reflective or waterproofing coating.

I ordered this to use when I’m working as a first responder. The jacket it designed really well. The yellow is bright and neon in nature. It is very easy to see during the daytime as well as dusk and dawn. For nighttime, there are several grey reflective stripes that cross over the jacket. The jacket is also nice and warm but breathable. There are several pockets secured with zippers on the outside of the jacket and two pockets on the inside of the jacket without any zippers. The hood is detachable, but, since I use this jacket when outside for long periods of time I always keep the hood attached. This is a really great quality jacket that I would definitely recommend.

I have worn this vest over the course of two days and approximately 9 miles of walking outside in 40 degree to 50 degree weather. The weight of this jacket is perfect for cooler weather. The fit is excellent, as I ordered the XL instead of my normal XXL due to the size chart showing dimensions that fit better with going down one size. I love the front slanted zipper pocket for my iPhone and the zipper side pockets to hold stuff without falling out. I took away one star because the main front zipper is suspect, as the zipper separated while moving. After getting the zipper reset, I looked closely and I believe the zipper is not heavy duty enough. This is a serious concern as if the zipper stops working, it makes the entire jacket ineffective.

This is a great soft shell jacket. I wear this when working on rainy days near the roadway. I sometimes have to dig on the side of the road when it rains and this gives me peace of mind.
