Ground emery is a popular abrasive with a wide range of applications in industrial, engineering and crafting processes. Emery can be used for several different applications and as an abrasive, is recyclable, being reusable until it begins to break down. Emery sand has long been known as a pin cushion filler, both sharpening and cleaning the pins / needles. 80 (medium) grade is recommended for this purpose.
