Hinge Screw, Self Driller, 1 in., PK24

Exactly the screws needed for your garage door hardware. I was unable to find them at my local hardware superstore, but these are exactly what is needed for the hardware and weatherstrip on a garage door. Perfect !

I replaced the hinges on my 20 year old, insulated, Wayne Dalton Classic Steel garage door and used these self-tapping hinge screws to secure the new hinges . The new hinges had a different hole pattern than the original hinges so these screws were not used in the existing holes. These screws worked well except that these screws were a few millimeters too long and poked thru the skin of the door on the outside. I made the mistake of assuming these, being hinge screws, would of course not be too long. Rather that they'd be long enough to hold the hinges well but not too long. I was surprised to see them all poking a little bit thru the skin of the door. Not a fatal mistake by any means, just something I did not think about when I bought them. So be aware. Otherwise these are good quality screws.

I received the screws loose in a bag. The quantity listed is 24, but the quantity I received was 21. Fortunately not a big deal for my project, but be aware if you require 24, there is a chance you will not receive all of them. I'm sure it was a simple miscount from the vendor. Other than that the screws are as described and exactly what I needed.

They are the right size for a basic Clopay garage door.Self tapping makes the job a lot easier.
