MAGNIFICENT IS BUT A SMALL WORD
I'll start off with the quality of the book -• The cover is absolutely gorgeous.• The pages are delicate (not as sturdy as other publications but still good) and have a premium feel. I seem to love it.• The font is small but still readable and it's appealing to the eye.• Absolutely no damages of any kind.• No bookmark received.• You can see the size of the book compared to a regular notebook. Now, about the Novel -Swann's Way by Marcel Proust is the 1st Volume of the book 'In Search of Lost Time' which consists of a total of 7 Volumes (a total of around 4000 pages).Swann's Way is one of the Greatest Novels of the 20th century to be ever written. The way the book is written is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful, poetic, magnificent, glorious, splendid, spectacular................................................................Still, it's not a book for everyone, The book is a Remembrance of Things Past and Proust's narrative can sometimes be complex. The first 50pgs of the book deals with the topic Sleep, and the next 200 about the narrater's town, only then does the real plot begin, Swann's Jealous Love. Nonetheless, Proust's prose is breathtaking and is a must-read for every book lover out there.Hope this was helpful.

Appeals to serious readers of literature only.
Actually this is the first volume in the total of six! (contains 500 pages). This book is most famous in literature as a trail blazer (flow of consciousness and things like that). Makes heavy reading with long, meandering sentences that seem to be reluctant to end. There are plenty of very good phrases and imageries. But it is doubtful if ordinary people who love action and quick reads may like this kind of book.Strictly for serious literature addicts only.

A slow burn that creeps into your thoughts and leave you thirsting for more.
One of the masterpieces of French literature and stream-of-consciousness literature, Marcel Proust's magnum opus is not an easy read. It defies the conventional structure of a novel, instead placing us squarely in the mind of the protagonist, where predominantly the action takes place. The book is slow, but in the best way possible. The flavours do not hit you immediately, but leaves a bittersweet aftertaste that makes you crave for more. The delivery was quick, with the product being delivered the day after. The pages are a pale shade of white, similar to every other edition of Penguin Classics. It looks gorgeous but serves little practical purpose, as one cannot annotate or mark their text as it may tear and/or bleed through the pages. The book is lightweight and thus, can be carried everywhere without being a burden. The introduction and the notes at the back help the reader be grounded to the text without feeling lost amidst this masterpiece of an artwork.

Good Quality
Good quality and looks really good.I'm not gonna talk about the book itself. Overall penguin did a good job with this particular edition. Cover looks beautiful and the colors make it very attractive.

Finally I am reading - In search of lost time
It's a long long read. It is full of nuances of human behavior. I have fully enjoyed it.The Proust's world is bit further from ours. But the humans are nonetheless the same.A little warning it is a slow read.

Quality not upto par
The media could not be loaded. I got this from penguin believing it to be original by paying more as compare to other publishers. the page quality is ok but the pages are note cut properly as seen in the photo. Some pages are cut smooth and sum are not. not giving an overall good experience of reading a book.

Perfect
Proust is an aquired taste for some and a poseur for others but i fell in love with the book instantaneously. If you're reading this, i suppose you know about the book already, most people do but only a handful ever read it. I highly recommend it. And Lydia Davis has translated it brilliantly, i love her.

Not for everyone, but a marvelous book
Swann's Way is not everyone's cup of tea. Reading it is a revelation but also a challenge. There is much to enjoy and learn from in this book. In parts it is even laugh-out-loud funny. But the reader has to submit to Proust's tempo and style of revealing what he wants to reveal. A description of falling asleep takes five pages. Every sentence contains clauses, and sub-clauses, and sub-sub clauses. But every sentence is necessary. If you have the patience to give in to the infinite detail of Proust's language, you will be rewarded.

Worth the hard work
Although it is often frustratingly long-winded (the account of Swann's toxic relationship with Odette, although fascinating at times, did not seem to end), there are plenty of images and passages that are astonishingly original.
