This is how I received my bottle. A simple shrink wrapped top or tape around the cap would resolve this. As far as the product I use this on all my diesel and gas fuel fittings. No leaks.

I have been using this product since I bought my first 4 oz can at a Pep Boys 43 years ago. When my Mom complained of a gas leak that soap bubbles could not locate on her heater; I turned the gas off and coated the mating surfaces on the union coupling on the furnace with a thin coat. Let it dry for 10 minutes and reassembled the coupling and restored the gas. Problem solved. When my Mastercraft competition ski boat's 615 CFM Holly carb's fuel filter stopped up I took the filter out and cleaned it. Sealing the gas line to the body of these carbs is difficult to say the least unless you put a thin coat of this on all the mating surfaces and both sides of the thin washer sandwitched between them and let it dry for 10 minutes then reassemble. It makes any difficult to seal connection child's play to get right! I also use it on the oil drain plug threads and flange. Water pump and thermostat gaskets, anything you can think of works great.

Product works great but Amazon product pickers need to check that the lids are on tight before the box them up. The lid was lose and it was a big mess that I had to clean up before I could even use the stuff.

The media could not be loaded. What I got ISN'T aviation form a gasket no3. This stuff looks like chocolate milk and has the same consistency. DON'T BUY THIS, ITS A SCAM!

I used Permatex aviation sealant on a 3/4 inch metal pipe. Standard heater type hose. I coated both inside hose and outside pipe. Within 5 minutes hose was installed. Next day coolant leaked out of this connection. Tried snugging clamp but failed to stop leak. No damage go pipe and hose was new.I'm lucky I was not relying on this in and aircraft. This hose is in a tough location and now I haver to remove it and find a better sealant. I had high hopes for this. But no longer. I would never buy this again.Can't figure why it failed when so many positive reviews had good luck with it. Did I get a bad container?I do use other Permatex products with success.February 15,2020. I used this on more fitting, hoses etc. and now find it does work. I wondered why it was not doing its job.(I like Permatex products) The above 3/4 inch hose must have been a fluke. ALL others are fine and leak proof. Happy again!

It is a little thin which makes it a little messier but it works just like it advertises. Works great on paper gaskets.
