Angel of Retribution is the fifteenth studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest, released in 2005. It is the band's first album since Painkiller (1990) to feature Rob Halford. The album debuted at #13 on the US Billboard chart, which made it the third highest chart of a Judas Priest album (the second being Nostradamus and the highest being Redeemer of Souls). The album was produced by Roy Z, who co-wrote the song "Deal with the Devil". Review: Great Very Heavy Record Marking Halford's Return To J.P. - Great record straight through. There's a slight lull from the metal madness with a sort of ballad, Angel and the sad Eulogy. Otherwise every other song here is a killer mix of shredding guitar solos and incredible bass and drums with Halford clearing the floor with his melting horrid screams. Highly recommended album, even though there's a lot of record flipping with mostly 2 or 3 songs per side. Review: Possibly their most underrated album - This was the comeback album. Having all the Priest albums, I find this one to be in my top five. All of the songs are great & this is among the best mixed albums that they have. Their last great album IMO.

Very happy to finally be able to buy this album on vinyl for under $50
Vinyl Edition: I love the vinyl mastering here, it sounds SO good. Very powerful over tower speakers. If you are a fan of Scott Travis’s double-bass-drum attack you are in luck, vinyl is the way to enjoy this album. Angel of Retribution is a very strong album; melodic, hard, and varying in tone and mood. I like Rob Z’s production, he worked on a few Halford solo albums that I really enjoy. The albums first disc contains the more harder, powerful songs, the second disc is more introspective and also were many fans feel Priest have laid an egg; Lochness. I think Lochness sounds way better on vinyl than on CD but still not crazy about the chorus. Included is an MP3 download, which is good since Amazon does not offer Auto-Rip for Angel of Retribution vinyl. My only complaint would be that there is not lamination or a glossy surface on the album jacket which may help to protect the artworks longevity like CBS records of the past. I would advise putting the album in a plastic sleeve. Very happy to finally be able to buy this album on vinyl for under $50 !
