I like the design but do not like vee groove in bottom. You can replace MDF shoe or make your own. I wish base was magnetic because glue strips limit it to one machine. I just left tape on glue strips so I can move it around shop. I like the base because it makes it to grab it and use.

The base is magnetic. The metal plate with the glue strips is just for mounting to non ferrous surfaces. Slide it off and you’ll find the magnets. Mimicked his rating so as not to dilute it.
