Q: What advantage does this have for macebell workouts over a sledgehammer?

Longer handle than a standard sledgehammer and when you get to heavier weights its hard to find a sledgehammer that heavy. Knurling on the handle is nice too.

Q: Is there a noticeable feeling of weight difference between a 10# indian club and a 10# mace club? i have a 10# ind clb. should i order the 15# mace?

There is a difference. The longer handle makes the weight feel heavier. You can hold the mace at different points. Closer to the ball makes it feel lighter. I’d recommend the 15 lb so you get variety. There’s a lot of crossover between exercises anyway, though with mace versatility you could have a half barbell for specialized exercises.

Q: I am looking for a 50 lb. mace but see that is not available. Can the lower weights give an equivalency of 50 lb. based on how the handle is held?

Don’t think so. Also you, heaviest one I have seen is a 40.
