Heat & Humidity Gel

I believe this is the best gel ever for curly hair. It’s fool-proof. You can apply as much as you want. Very light weight and doesn’t weigh down fine curls. It controls the frizz amazingly and when it dries completely, just give it a lil scrunch ALL over and your hair will look so natural and have all the movement. The scrunch after it dries also brings the volume back. You will look like you were “born this way”.

Only curl product that makes my curls look hydrated and lasts for days. Best I have ever found in yrs

I have difficult hair. Texture runs from fine to coarse (finer hair on crown and canopy, coarse hair on the lower sections). I also have a LOT of hair. Curl pattern ranges from almost straight to s-waves to medium corkscrew/ringlet curls. For porosity, most of my hair is low porosity, although the coarser bottom layer has some medium-porosity strands. Given that my hair has such great variation, it’s really hard to find products that work for my entire mane. This gel works GREAT for my hair! My best approach for styling has been leave-in conditioner plus lightweight curl cream plus gel that dries to a cast, which I then scrunch out once dry. This gel is wonderful for that. I still experience small amounts of halo frizz (practically unavoidable with my hair. Since the topmost layer is finer, the strands that grow straighter on top refuse to join curl families. If I attempt to finger-curl those baby flyaways they might stay together, but will be practically straight). But overall, gel hold is really good and works over at least two days (I’m on day 3 today- still have some nice bouncy curls despite minimal refresh). This gel doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry or limp, so it works in my routine to maintain my ideal protein/moisture balance levels. Also, I’m highly sensitive to fragrance, especially floral scents. I was concerned when I opened my trial-size bottle to break the seal. It was a mild scent, but definitely floral. I needn’t have been worried though. The fragrance isn’t heavy, and completely disappeared once my hair was dry and I scrunched out the gel cast. On days I’m looking for springier curls, this is quickly going into regular rotation. My other almost-holy-grail product (verb foaming gel) works best for softer/tamer curls For background: despite trying multiple approaches and various levels of fidelity to the curly-girl method, I’ve found my best bet is to find products that work for my hair, no matter whether they include forbidden ingredients. Despite having self-admitted difficult hair, it’s extremely tolerant to sulfates and water-soluble silicones. The strict curly girl method was a complete fail for my hair over the 1-2 years+ I attempted it. I’ve spent the past few years trying various products to see what works for me.

I dont normally leave reviews however this product is good. Its a must have product. Its the best product ive ever used on my 2b curls. Its light, the gel literally drips from my palm. I have fine strands and its very lightweight. I would’ve given it 5 stars if the seal isnt broken when I unscrewed the cap. Overall the product is really good. I will buy it again.

Ouidad is an excellent brand. I use this along with the leave in moisturizer on my curly hair. It does not leave my hair greasy and my hair is thin. The scent is clean and pleasant. There are no issues with excessive hair falling out either like some curly hair products. No damage. This and their leave in moisturizer together is all you need for curly hair in a place as humid as Florida.

This product is a complete game changer. It is pricey, but only a small amount is needed with each use. My curly, thick hair becomes soft and frizz free.

I’m really not loving this gel. I’m following instructions about how much to apply, etc and I’ve tried air drying and diffusing but I just don’t like the results. It is not moisturizing at all. It doesn’t really make my hair shiny but I wasn’t expecting it to. The fragrance is minimal and dissipates quickly. I didn’t experience any skin or scalp irritation. The gel itself is thin, easy to apply and work through hair. It forms a very nice cast. The cast is not difficult to break but I can’t stand the way it makes my hair feel. The best way I can describe it is a very corse, dry (in a damaged way, not a good way), and almost brittle texture. Day 2 required a bit of finessing to tame the frizz I woke up with. Day 3 really needed a full refresh but I didn’t have time for that so I applied some frizz taming leave-in conditioner and called it good enough. Maybe this will work for someone else that has hair that doesn’t need as much conditioning, but I am not that gal. I deducted two stars because it arrived on time and was well packaged but as I said before, this product it not for me.

Great product, doesn’t weight down fine hair, gets rid of frizz well.

Creates amazing curls with little to no frizz when used with a curl brush/comb. Hair isn’t crunchy and feels silky. A must have for curly hair folk.

Afro 4abc low porosity hair. This product is very high functioning in smoothing hair and blocking humidity stopping frizz. It's light weight so no noticeable buildup. Has a liquid/gel consistency. A little goes a long way. Gel hold without crunch.Really pleased with purchase.
