Helly Hansen mens Lifa Dry Stripe Crew - Black/ High Vis, Large
After reading so many positive reviews I had to give this a go for the money (£15)I love being outdoors but the cold just makes me feel ill so I take my layering quite seriously- or so I thought. It doesn't matter if you are active or if you work in a cold environment, put this on and you are comfortable, and you stay comfortable!I am 5'11" and reasonably slim with a 43" chest and the large fits perfectly but not skin tight tight thankfully.I'm wearing mine at work as my office is freezing, yesterday I wanted to put my coat on over my suit, today The coat and jacket are off!I will do an update after a few washes but the quality seems very good.Cotswold Outdoor have an offer on a twin pack at £40 which seems a bargain until you factor in the postage (around £6)Anyway, I'm off to order some more.UPDATE 10/03/2014;Do you know when you see a kid in a spiderman suit that they wont take off? Well thats me and Helly Hansen.I watched a game of football in a wide-open and very windy space a couple of weeks ago,it was around 5-6 degrees and apparently 'well wrapped up' people were leaving before half time. I was only wearing a berghaus fleece over my Helly but I was as warm as toast. I wear it on my daily walk, take it off and wash it when back at home, it's almost dry enough to wear straight from the washing machine, and after half a dozen washes it still looks brand new. It is very comfortable, not too tight fitting, warm and dry. I have now ordered the tee shirt to stop the missus calling me spiderman.

Great product.
I love merino products but sometimes go back to synthetic if I know it's going to be a sweaty day as they deal with moisture quicker. Two points to note- Buy a size up as quite a tight fit.- Can only be worn once before washing unless you're going to be on your own as they developed a smell pretty quickly.

As expected from HH
Excellent quality & great fit - perfect base layer for the cooler months. Only flaw is that the weave of the fabric is relatively open and can snag and pull more easily than other similar tops.

Replaced my first one from 14 years ago.
This is my third HH base layer, my first one lasted 14 years!!!!!! I wore it for running in winter three times a week and occasional cycling, until the last year it washed up well, eventually the lycra started to bag. These are well judged base layers, great for most of a UK winter, rarely too hot or too cold, manages wicking moisture well preventing you becoming too cold at stops. I would recommend these base layers, effective and very long lasting.

An old favourite
I've had one of these for more years than I care to mention, testament to its durability. It has always been my favourite top for running in colder weather and as a base layer for hiking or cycling. Its wicking capabilities are great, I can always recall stopping on one particular run only to find myself steaming out of it like a racehorse! It is so light, dries very quickly and takes up no space in a bag.I was gutted when I appeared to have lost it a month ago so my partner got me this new one for my birthday. I've since found the old one so now I've got a spare. Its a style that never seems to have gone out of fashion.NB it is slim but very stretchy so will present your torso like it is. That may be a good or bad thing, dependant on your confidence in that regard.Buy one and feel good in it!

The original and the best
I've been an active hiker for over thirty years and I've got a lot of kit, including many different base layers. These have been about for ever and I've worn them for years. Breaths amazingly well and despite the current popularity of merino wool base layers, I still think the HH ones are the bomb. Warm and they get rid of the sweat fast too.

Great base layer falling little short
Love Helly Hanson’s base layers and have worn them for years. The most comfy base layers/fitness tops I’ve ever found. This one is great but a little short in the body for me. I ordered medium and it’s a great fit on the torso/arms but a bit short - I’m 6ft 32” waist 40” chest.Large would have been longer but a bit baggy - guess I need to bulk up!
