Good, basic RAM
Good, basic RAM. For those unsure if it's suitable for your PC, go to your PC manufacturer's website (if it's a branded one, e.g., Dell) and look on the support pages for your model.Alternatively, open the case and look for the motherboard model (usually near the RAM slots), then look up the motherboard as above. You will need to check 4 basics:RAM type (DDR2/DDR3, etc - it won't fit in the slot if it's the wrong type)Speed (666mhz, 800mhz, etc - a slower speed does not necessarily mean this memory won't work, but it will run at the slower speed - see my point regarding BIOS updates below)Voltage (this is 1.8v RAM - a motherboard/PC that provides only 1.5v to the memory slots will have issues running this memory, if it even manages to boot up)Maximum Capacity (motherboards have hard-coded limits on the total RAM installed, can be changed by BIOS updates. Also, 32Bit versions of Windows are limited to recognising only about 3.5GB of RAM. If you put 8GB in a 32Bit Windows PC, you've wasted your money)If your PC won't boot when you fit this, leave 1 stick of old RAM in at first, then boot. Motherboards can get funny if you put a whole new set of RAM in at once. Also, bear in mind that the BIOS of your PC may need updating first - the PC I bought this for originally only accepted 666mhz speed memory. A BIOS update allowed it to recognise this 800mhz memory.I originally purchased 2x2GB of these back in 2012, and they have lasted a few years but began to show errors recently. I've replaced them with a new pair from Komputerbay (only 2 RAM slots in the PC). Currently claiming under the lifetime warranty.

very good for the price
This memory kit provides a very good solution for upgrading some-what out-of-date old computer system. I've been running with this RAM kit for two months in my old PC and there has not been a single issue caused by the RAM since upgrade. The PC I wanted to upgrade is almost 7 years old. I wanted to expand the RAM from 4GB to 8GB, due to upgrading the OS to Win10. It is very difficult to find DDR2 RAM sticks match with the existing ones -- to avoid any incompatibility issue, ideally the new and old ram sticks should be exactly the same brand/model, all at least the same voltage, frequency, and (maybe) timing etc. I reckon finding sticks like that is not easy, and often expensive. This 8GB RAM kit, on the other hand, provided me an affordable solution so I can simply swap the existing 4GB RAMs with these. True these rams are not as fast my old ones, in terms of frequency and timing, but IMO it is a very balanced compromise among RAM speed, size, stability and money.I would also strongly recommend NOT to mix RAMs of different spec, as it may cause a lot stability issues, even for more expensive big brand product. And it does require some basic knowledge for upgrading RAMs, rather than just plug-n-play.

The RAM arrived on time and worked first time without hassle when I connected it to my motherboard. There is one problem though - I used some PC programs like CPUID to check the specifications of what's inside my computer and it said that the ram was only running at 400mhz, not the 800mhz that was advertised. I didn't think it was a problem with the ram; I did thourough research beforehand and the sources said that my motherboard can use 800mhz ram (it's a very old motherbaord by today's standards) but for some reason it's only running at half that. Unless I misread the product information, it's probably safe to assume that either the BIOS or the motherboard wouldn't allow me to run the ram at 800mhz. Aside from the speed problem the ram works perfectly fine and is a good upgrade from the 4gb I used to have; It seems that 4gb of ram just won't cut it anymore to run a lot of games.

Good, efficient service
Good, efficient service, the RAMs were decently packaged and arrived on time. I have upgraded memory before and had no problems aligning each card and they were all recognised by the CPU on boot-up.I checked and double checked that the product met the correct specification as described in the Gigabyte User Manual before ordering, as I suspect that people who have had problems upgrading memory try to run chips that aren't compatible or that they try to run a mixture of memory modules, old and new.

Passed MemTest86+ 3 times (>6 hours) at 890 so I'm happy.
I was sceptical because of the very mixed reviews of Komputerbay, but not a lot of people are selling 4GB DDR2 DIMMs and I really wanted to upgrade my video editing PC beyond 8GB so I decided to risk it.There's no SPD maker info and the chips are overmarked Komputerbay so I don't know where they're from. I soak-tested the RAM with MemTest86+ v4.20 at the 800 rated speed in a good Asus board and it was fine, so I repeated with higher clocks (only, no voltage tweaks) until it wouldn't boot. It passed 3 times (>6 hours) at 890 which is fine for my needs so I'm happy.

lost confidence
I tried all possible positions, with and without the original cards, but could not get these cards to work. Whenever they were in a slot the computer failed to boot.Amazon were very good, though. They refunded my money without hassle. Actually I haven't checked it yet, but they said they would. And they arranged collection at no cost to me.It may be some time before I make another attempt to upgrade that particular computer, as I have lost confidence in its ability to accept more memory. I did ask Amazon for help in sorting this out. Their response, while laudable, was a little less helpful than I had hoped. But a refund, while less satisfactory than technical assistance to make the thing work, is better than you get from some suppliers. So I'm not entirely happy, but at least I'm no worse off than I was before.

6-6-6-18 memory, it is ok!
Latency 6-6-6-18 (it only cost £40 - best latency you will get at 8GB is 5, so not a great reduction) this memory works. If you (like me) still have use for memory of this type, I recommend not spending too much on it. I had 2 separate pairs of very high speed memory, but regular timing problems due to different chips. This memory is slower but so far error free, no more issues.Unfortunately after only a month, I'm getting a lot of blue screens. Reduced rating to 3 stars.
