I don't have room on my side of the bed for a nightstand, but wanted somewhere to keep my cell phone and chap stick. (I have to have chap stick near me at all times.) This shelf is sturdy enough for my light purposes, although I wouldn't trust putting a drink on it, just because I would probably knock it off in my sleep. We have the pink one and the blue one and both have been perfect quality and we've had no issues with either.

This holder is just GENIUS. It works great in small spaces. However, ding 1 star because the cable management holes are really lacking ... real easy to drop a phone charger even with the hook/loops used to hold them in place. But otherwise, super functional. Second ding is that in person, it does look a bit smaller than in pictures. If used on a queen size bed, it will look a bit on the tiny side. Give those design issues, if it were a bit cheaper, I'd give it all 5 stars.

This is a great idea, and a wonderful application of physics, but the product itself looks a little cheap. This is because the side where you rest your phone or whatever looks like it is supposed to be the bottom side, because there are little circles in the plastic from where the mold or whatever held it in place when made. It's nice that it has a lip around the edge to keep stuff from rolling off, and the notches do a good job of holding cords in place.It does fold up nice and flat, easy to store if you aren't using it. But once we started using it, we didn't want to remove it, and I was hoping it would be a little more aesthetically pleasing.Still, a great idea, love that it comes in different colors, and it does the job pretty well. Don't expect it to hold a heavy cup of coffee, or anything more than about half a pound (8 oz.) in weight, or it may tip.

This shelf is great! I am trying to be minimalist and don't like having my iphone plugged in on the floor. This has a nice spot to put the cord in so it doesn't fall on the ground. Also can hold some hand lotion to put on before going to bed, a night guard, bottle of water, etc. Not huge but big enough for a couple essentials. Ordering the pink for my daughter! Stays on the bed really well and is sturdy...can hold prob a few pounds!

Every time I get out of bed, the shelf moves and the TV remote falls off.It had one job. It doesn't do that job.NOTE. I used Sugru: Sugru Moldable Glue - Black & White (Pack of 8) to make it 50% more secure.If you buy an urban shelf, I would STRONGLY recommend you use Sugru to add some rubber, giving it a much better grip

Flimsy and priced more than they're worth, IMO. It has 3 parts -- the platform where you place your items, the vertical body and the flat base (that runs in an opposite direction to the platform, to be snuggled under the mattress). The issue is that the base can move around freely under the mattress, and when that happens, the vertical body and upper platform become unstable. That's why I felt it was "flimsy". It could work if your mattress fits snugly inside your bedframe (so you can secure the base without movement) but otherwise it will be unstable and more of a liability than a benefit. Overall the construction is good, but as stated, the design isn't universally efficient/useful.

This thing is awesome! I honestly don't know how someone could give this a bad review. My guess is they're either doing something wrong, or they were expecting to put a Mack truck on top of this. Folks, it's plastic, it can't hold a set of weights. It's perfect as a mouse pad, for cell phones, and maybe an alarm clock -- not to exceed 4-5 pounds. Also, if you need to put something heavier on top, it can always be reinforced -- underneath -- with a simple wooden wedge. A little improvisation.

Perfect and so cute.I love the style and it does fit the things I need. It's subtle and functional, I wish it was a little wider and more sturdy.Bottom line, if you want a side shelf to hold a book, tablet or small remote or phone, it's perfect. I have been wearing of leaving drinks on it.

Too small to be effective

Product looks a lot cheaper in real life than it does in the picture. I think it will probably hold the weight of a cup of water, but since it is not secured by anything other than the weight of the mattress, it is slightly wobbly and unstable, so I would not put any liquids on it.
