Scruples

I saw it in the early 80s here in Milan, in the Italian version and when VHS came out I was glad to buy, in England the original American language version. Then DVDs made their appearance and now I have it. Why do I keep watching it? Because it is a lesson in growing up with style, how to become a lady with real class, with all that this may imply, which is a deep knowledge of people and how to treat men and women with the respect they deserve, but also how to behave correctly in any situation , especially those that may not be so pleasant. All the movie stars play exeptionally well. and as for exterior scenes, I love watching those ones set in very elegant surroundings, with smart people as well as those shot just outside L.A.,in the countryside, sunny and wild. These are a real pick-me-up when watched during a dark and cold winter night.

just waiting to see and hear what is shared by all in the beautiful musical score/theme. Mr. Charles Bernstein is a marvel with his melodies and composing. I, like many others, cannot wait until a DVD is released for this fine movie, which allows a person to get caught up in one of the most melodious of all film scores. The following is my own personal opinion ~ if a movie's music has the quality of such endearing melodies and you are there more for the music than the actual film ~ with the film being secondary to the music; then, you KNOW for a fact that this is going to be one of the best films ever. Music defines a movie in a way that nothing else does. If you ever get a chance, please listen to the score of a movie that later turns out to be an Oscar performance ... you'll see ... it always happens.

Very interesting movie.

Very nice Dvd. The colors in the movie are so clear and detailed. it is an interesting movie to watch at home. I received it on time today earlier and it is in excellent condition. Lindsay Wagner and the crew were/are great in their acting parts. Nice to see. A Love movie. enjoyed. Recommends.

For years, I have been curious about "Scruples". It has been advertised as one of Lindsay Wagner's best tv movies and as legendary Gene Tierney's last video performance. For 1980, this movie was considered scandelous. However, in the new ages of violent music videos, terrorists, and a non innocence society, this is tame. Lindsay Wagner, as usual, is a gifted actress. Barry Bostwick and Marie-France Piser are great as the secondary story line as two people, who are in love, but don't know how to commit to each other. Guest appearences include Connie Stevens, Robert Reed, Gavin MacLeod, and Kim Cattrall. This is a factory of stars, who guest starred on "Love Boat" and "Charlie's Angels". After reading the facts on the stars, I noticed under Lindsay Wagner's biography that she was in an auto accident, which gave her a scar above her upper lip. It is evident here. However, she is nevertheless beautiful. Marie-France Fimer is a striking sexy but Carole Lombard type beauty, who gives an excellent performance. She is sexy and wise cracking like Lombard. Unfortunately, I read she died recently this year in a pool accident. God bless her soul. Barry Bostwick is also good in a not conviencing hustler role. He makes the audience like him in the long run. As for the most surprising role, it goes to legendary Gene Tierney, who played in "Laura", "Leave Her To Heaven" and "The Raxor's Edge". Gene Tierney was known to be one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. In this movie, it is a sad reminder that time takes it toll. Gene is overweight and looks more like 70 by today's standard than 59 or 60, when she made this. The eyes are still as beautiful, when she first made movies and in my opinion, more beautiful than Elizabeth Taylor's. However, she gives a great brief short performance as a latent lesbian, who is overwhelmed with Kim Cattrall's beauty. This appearence was shortly made after Gene Tierney's bestseller autobiography. One, guesses, she did this to help promote the book. Anyway, Gene's performance makes you believe she was lusty after Kim Cattrall. Buy this DVD. It is one to have in your collection. This makes me want to buy more Lindsay Wagner t.v. or movie performances. Enjoy.

Got this because I remembered seeing it on TV and loving it back then. While its dated, the story line hold its own, and I always enjoy seeing Lindsay Wagner perform. She really was brilliant and so believable. I enjoyed it. Had forgotten some of it, so it was good to see again.

Love the movie so glad I was able to get dvd

THIS IS A MOVIE - I HAVE ENJOYED FOR YEARS. I HAVE THE VHS TAPE BUT RECENTLY SENT AND GOT THE DVD. THE ACTING BY ALL INDIVIDUALS IS A SHEER DELIGHT TO WATCH, THEREFORE, IN MY OPINION, THERE AREN`T ANY AREAS OF THIS MOVIE ONE CAN SAY, ``I DIDN`T LIKE THIS PART OR THAT PART.`` I HAVE WATCHED THIS MOVIE MANY TIMES AND, LIKE THE FIRST TIME, IT`S NEW AND EXCITING AND, AND MOST OF ALL, STILL 100% ENJOYABLE!!
