Decent guide in a pinch
I would say if you can get this cheap (even if an older 2003, 2005, 2007, 2020 copy) in a thrift store or charity shop for a pound or so it's worth it, it's a nice compact guide to everything you need to know about Dublin, I don't think the newer guides are all that different to the first or older editions, the older editions just probably have 1 or 2 different suggestions e.g. pubs some have become newly popular, others are gone after COVID or not popular anymore. However I wouldn't pay full price for a new copy unless I was getting it at the airport or the night before to read on the plane or straight before my holiday. Overall it's nice and concise but it's nothing you can't find yourself with a bit of googling. That being said, it's everything you need to know in one place, if that's what you want you get what you seek, where as you had to do some research here or there to get absolutely everything you need to know. I still prefer my own research I did though, I found some reccomendations I found online to be better. I guess the trouble with a travel guide is there's only so many places they can reccomend, vs you can view multiple sources of different people who's visited opinions on where to hit up if you did your own research. In addition I'm not a fan of their 2 day iteneraries. Their iteneraries suggest in 2 days to basically explore Trinity and Temple Bar or so, you can do so much more and see so much more in Dublin in 48 hours! Everything is pretty near on the north side and you can definitiely see far more in 48h. The 7 day itenerary doesn't even suggest to see more after that, it says to go explore more of Ireland (which I would reccomend yes if you're there longer than a weekend, but there's still a lot more to see of Dublin, too).Overall find it on the cheap and still impressingly good concise guide in a pinch, if you have more time before your trip though and only planning to visit Dublin just google and research yourself instead and you will find the same thing. This book might be worth it a bit more for people who want to extend their trip to Cork, Limerick, Galway and/or N.I. so that was a nice added touch. The guide is more of a refer back to whilst your there sort of thing that can be read in 5-10mins. I can see the appeal of travel guides and I can't fault that this did a pretty good summary of my pre holiday research I found myself, I was impressed though didn't find much new. To add, there is a ton of introduction to history of each place and what you'll find at each. If you're super into that, this is quite a gem, though personally wasn't too fussed myself.
