Bought this for carrying second camera. Gave it some rough treatment to make sure it’s good enough to carry some weight. Seems tough enough. Only worry is screw on clasp doesn’t work properly and I assume that’s why they put on small o ring to fix it in place. Still, seems ok time will tell. Recommend it though.

I'tm on the train coming back from London having spent the day yesterday walking around with the USA Gear camera sling carrying my Canon 6d and 24-70 (the original f2.8 heavy version.) I have some great photos but I don't have a sore neck.I have been using the black rapid strap for a while without any complaint; but any chance for a better strap is worth exploring. The USA Gear strap is a nice soft neoprene; rather than nylon web, which also gives it a bit of bounce. The strap goes diagonally across your chest; the padded shoulder section also has a small pocket for memory cards. I like this style of strap as it distributes the weight better for me; and i prefer having the camera at my side than protruding from my stomach as I walk around.There is a second strap you can wrap under your arm to give more security but i didnt find it worth it. On the long strap are two adjustable clips which prevent the camera moving past them; you can adjust these to fit best for you; these allow you to lift the camera; and as it is on a movable ring on the strap it doesn't move the strap with it. When you lower the camera its sits on your side allowing you to use both hands.The camera connects to your camera's tripod socket; and unlike the blackrapid straps this is easily done as there is a metal baseplate with a finger turnable knurled screw. I walked around all day and the bolt never loosened up; being something finger sized makes it easy to adjust when you want to; rather than the small adaptor on the blackrapid. The baseplate is solid metal with two rings you can attach the strap's carabiner to. This also makes it easy to remove the camera from the strap when you need it (to put it back into your bag.)

I purchased this strap and have used it to carry a canon zoom lens + DSLR body (with Joby safety strap!) for less than a year. Already, as other reviewers have pointed out, there are grooves worn into the clip where it contacts with the metal base plate. I have contacted USA Gear sellers USAGear who have agreed that the equipment is faulty and have offered to replace it (although requiring payment for shipping of the damaged item and a new one in return!) although that was not my main point. That the item is NOT FIT FOR USE (with certain kit) has been totally ignored by their replies to several e-mails. Because the strap is useful, I will be looking to try and replace the base plate with something that I would have confidence in being secure (After all, several thousand pounds of kit crashing to the floor because of flawed design is unthinkable!). The strap itself is comfortable and "very" usable but in all honesty I would not trust the base plate where the suspended kit is heavy enough to cause rapid wearing - hence the rating of 1 star.

This is a great strap. Having read some of the previous reviews I bought a Camkix mounting screw at the same time in order to replace the original. This was totally unnecessary. I can only speak for my own experience, wearing the camera slung on my right side, but the original mount ensures that the camera is slung at the correct angle in relation to your hip for comfort and security. My strap is holding a Nikon D5500 fitted with either a Nikon 18-300mm f3.5/5.6 or a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, both serious lumps. I have now hiked many miles with this setup and never encountered any problems with the mount unscrewing or coming loose. In fact wearing the camera on your right side with the carabiner clipped to the left of the mount means that gravity and the weight of the camera exert a turning force on the mount which keeps it tight. My only criticism is the length. I am of average height and have the strap adjusted as short as possible. When fully extended it would be too long for a basket ball player.

Don't know the wife took it for Christmas.

A very nice camera strap. However, the one I received was missing parts. So I had to return it. Could not re-purchase as it was the last one.

the colors are much brighter in person. I threw away the instructions but i'm sure ill figure out how to apply the little strap that it came with. I haven't used it yet, I will edit review after I've given it a try.
