Very simple, clear video and audio with good colour
Just received the item today via royal mail tracked, video doorbell is incredibly simple to put together consisting of a uk power supply in the back of the monitor and a phone type cable that links the screen to the doorbell. These are the only to cables to connect (unless you wish to install an electronic lock)I tested the item in the dark with the infra red working very well. The colour image in daylight is very clear and the audio is equally as good. The screen comes on when the doorbell is pressed, as well as the doorbell chime(which you can select) and stays on for 2 minutes. You can hear any noises from outside and to reply you just press the button with the phone image to talk back, press it again and it hangs up and turns off the screen. There are dials on the side to adjust volume, screen colour, and brightness. As well as a button for changing the ringtone. On the front a button for answering/ a button for opening electric lock(not provided) and a button for just showing you whats outside even if the doorbells not been pressed. The only thing thats a bit naff is the instruction booklet as its mostly chinese english, but its so straight forward you wont need it.For £55 quid its pretty cheap really, think ive covered it allJust hope it lasts** 4 year later update the video doorbell although still working is starting to fail, the screen occasionally comes up with lines across it and the actual door bell button doesn’t connect every time sometimes you have to press it 3+ times to get it to ring, and started to miss deliveries as a result so it’s time for a replacement. It’s a good product but not the longest term investment

Very usefull
It is a great piece of kit for the price with one exception, the power supply. I am going to have to do something about it. It looks like an American job and its plugged into an adapter. It looks like some kind of toy and it easily falls out. If it does and you don't repeatedly look at the monitor to see if the power is on or not then you end up with no door system. Very poor and so easily sorted by supplying the correct power supply for this country. The display is quite acceptable provided there is not a bright sky to the rear of the visitor. The door chimes are several of those sounds given away by Microsoft twenty plus years ago as samples to one of their sound utilities....the file format name escapes me at the moment.. It sounds artificial and lacking in the most part but there is one that I find mostly acceptable and am therefore using. The sound picked up by the microphone at both points is played by the speaker at the other end in a fairly good way. I found that the outside microphone is perhaps more sensitive than you need. A noise cancelling system cuts in every now and then and reduces the volume for a while. It has not yet been a problem. Its spoilt by the poor sound effects and power supply, the rest is generally not bad at all and would have been well worth a full five stars.

incomparable to door lock release device
Had an electrician I know to install this device, was to replace an existing phone entry intercom, with door release, as a camera system is better for my partner who is hard of hearing. On the face of it the electrician felt it should work with the existing door release lock, as the camera could be powered up by the existing transformer power supply. Sadly it would not release the door, it appears that the lock release device needed a signal device incorporated in the lock. Meaning I needed a specific replacement door lock release device. That's were it all fail apart. Firstly this device is not for sale on Amazon, secondly product is made in China, but does not state who the manufacturer is. So unable to consult with them. Lastly the installation and user manual does not advise anything on how to obtain this item. My electrician is fully qualified runs his own business, mainly does industrial electrical work he tried to bypass this signal issue with some tricks of the trade, but was unsuccessful. He liaised with his suppler who was equally perplexed . As a consequence returned item to Amazon, who have refunded me so 5 stars to Amazon for that. What I can tell you if you purchase this device just to see who is at the door and are willing or able to get to the door to open same yourself. Then yes this device will meet all your needs. But if you need the door release function it is of no use.

Looks good.
My mother is a 85-year-old ex-nurse/matron she is partially deaf and now in a wheelchair. I get all her shopping online from Tesco's because she lives in a different part of England to me. She never opens the door to Tesco's home delivery service because she doesn't hear the doorbell. I buy her a walking stick off of Amazon she loses it. I buy her hearing aids from Amazon and she says they are too uncomfortable to wear. She says she is freezing cold because the radiators need bleeding. I buy radiator keys from Amazon, and I say when would you like me to come over it cost me £30 + so can we do it on a Saturday a nonworking day. she says couldn't I leave it to some other time. She says I'm going to send you a large cheque because I need lots of shopping from Tesco's delivery. I say but you never open the door when they deliver let me get you a video intercom doorbell entry System so you can see the people who you will not open the door to like Tesco's delivery! She says can I come round another time to fit this video doorbell intercom system. The picture on the box looks very nice but my mother is a bitch and I haven't yet managed to set it up because she won't let me in or anybody else come to that. Nice looking intercom system anyway. Now if only she would give me five minutes alone without telephoning me and keeping me on the phone for hours upon hours and then complaining that she has a £700 telephone bill. She gives me bad heartburn. A nice intercom video doorbell system anyway.

Poor WiFi range is a problem.
Whilst my house is a brick built semi that is nearly 100 years old, the inability to make a connection from 5 metres was very disappointing.
