we had a gas leak in a new boat after trying another couple of company's model we gave up and dismantled the deck tanks hoses everything and pressure tested it all. still a leak.Ahhhhh We decided to try another one ....with the best reviews... voila we got this one and this tester led us to a loose clamp on the gas filter below deck in the hardest to reach or see location.It does take a few time to get good with it but keep at it we tried soap tests submerge tests etc and this device saved us. sorry to say I wish I bought it sooner and save thousands of dollars. excellent value!

This isn’t the lowest price I could get from Amazon, but reading the reviews and features that this leak detector has it seems worth it to me. Lower cost detectors don’t display the value of the gas ppm only indicating green/ yellow/ red which not enough for me and they don’t have a long gooseneck sensor. I want to be able to decide for myself what the amount of leaks acceptable or not and able to reach places that is hard to get. I tried it on a lighter and gas stove at varying level of gas amount, all worked. It gave me from low (green) to a high (red) indications. Other reviewers that tried it on a burning stove didn’t get any reading did not understand that the gas was already burned into a flame! That’s why the detector didn’t sense it. I did the same exact thing, when the flame was on the detector didn’t sense the gas. Note that there is a delay for the sensor to detect the gas and after the gas is gone about a few seconds depends on how much leakage is, which is normal for any detector, and this detector seems to have a very low delay compared to others (from reading their reviews). The detector is also easy to use, the temperature sensor is a bonus, I don’t really need it since I already have a more accurate thermometer with multiple different type of thermocouples.

El detector hace lo que dice, pero no esperes detectar fugas como un profesional. En realidad no detecta fallas de manera clara, en un baño pequeño con una fuga clara de Gas LP no detectaba nada, tuve que acercarlo a todas partes para que detectara la fuga, lo mismo pude haber hecho con mi nariz (no es broma ni sarcasmo). Utiliza pilas AAA que se agotan rapidísimo, 10 minutos de uso con pilas nuevas y ya marca pila baja, creo que es porque la pantalla siempre está encendida y el sensor funciona con calor producido por electricidad. Tiene el aspecto de un producto de China de mediana calidad, igual el empaque. Por el precio, considero que pude haber invertido más en algún producto con el respaldo de alguna marca reconocida.
