Designed for sealing and lubricating vacuum and pressure systems. It is a stiff, non-melting silicone lubricating material that maintains its consistency from -40 to 204°C (-40 to 400°F). It is used in applications similar to those for Dow Corning Stopcock Grease, and is the recommended replacement for that product. Any specifications calling for Dow Corning 976, Dow Corning 976V or Dow CorningStopcock Grease can be satisfied with Dow Corning High Vacuum Grease. FEATURES: - Good lubricating and sealing ability. - Low volatility to hold deep vacuum. - Non-melting. - Good thermal stability. - Excellent resistance to water, chemicals, high and low temperatures. APPLICATIONS: - Recommended for vacuum reaching between 1x10-5 and 1x10-6 torr. It is recommended that the grease be preconditioned under vacuum and temperature until these limits are reached to avoid sample contamination. - Seals and lubricates chemical processing equipment. - Lubricates laboratory equipment. - Lubricating plug valves, control valves, flow meter bearings, ceramic plug cocks, fire extinguisher valves, water treating equipment, synthetic rubber gaskets and seals in high temperature applications. - Sealing vacuum and pressure systems. - Lubricate synthetic rubber gaskets and seals in high-temperature applications. - Lubricating O-rings in binoculars and telescopes. - Prevents fogging of delicate lenses. - NOTE: Not recommended for use where it will come in contact with liquid oxygen. CHEMICAL RESISTANCE: - Insoluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, glycol and glycerine. - Unaffected by most vegetable and minerals oils.
