Kapok is the lightest natural fiber in the would and nearly five times as light as cotton. The fibrous structure of Kapok makes it a brilliant fire starter, simply take a small pinch and fluff up and it will catch the first spark from your fire steel. If your Kapok gets wet simply squeeze the excess water out and fluff up and apply spark and away you go.
