Excellent design and good, sturdy construction (with a few extra screws)
I can't think why I forgot to review this hutch - it has been excellent. It was originally bought for a small, feral Tom living rough in my garden. He has used it at night a lot, but recently the elderly, resident rescue Tom has tried to stake it for himself, spending almost all day in it, keeping an eye on his "patch" (though he does come in in the evenings for a more comfortable billet) - it is now referred to as "The Sangar".Assembly was easy enough - but the structure was actually a bit flimsy and needed quite a few more (thin) wood screws to tighten everything up.I also installed a few pieces of carpet tile on the internal floor and walls to stop draughts - a chopped-up old duvet serves well for mattressing.Since then, it has withstood even the worst Ulster weather - storms, gales, the lot - and remains as dry as a bone on the inside. One addition I did need to make was to install an angled, square sheet of clear plexiglass over the front door of the hutch to prevent the wind blowing the rain inside - this was simple enough to do and has worked perfectly, as the cats are able to duck under it without too much trouble and it doesn't stop them being able to see out.It looks like I'm going to have to get another one now for the feral tom - "The Young Pretender" - as my old boy can't be in two places at the same time.Well worth the money and should last a few more seasons with a few coats of cat-friendly varnish.Hope this reported experience is of use!

Fantastic Quality for a Good Price
The media could not be loaded. We have an indoor-outdoor cat that has this year decided to be an outdoor only cat. This was fine in the summer but as the weather changed I decided she needed a better shelter than just rolling in the dirt under the bush in out front yard. I didn't want to spend a fortune especially since she can come inside anytime she wants! After reading a lot of reviews I purchased this cat house and I was SO HAPPY when it arrived. I had read some reviews which stated that there were gaps and that it was cheaply made but this was not the case AT ALL with the one that I received. I've added a video and also a photo of me holding up one of the sides to the light to show there were no visible gaps. Although somewhat lightweight, each piece feels strong and it is very sturdy once assembled. As for the assembly, I will say that while it is pretty straightforward, it is also a bit fiddly and is definitely a two person job. But my partner and I got it out together in about 10 minutes without a problem. It's only been out in the front garden for about 10 days now but so far, so good. It seems weatherproof enough but it is under the bush where she liked to sleep anyway so it's a bit protected. We added a fluffy, absorbant door mat folded in half to the bottom which keeps her warm and comfortable. She took to it straight away and absolutely loves it. We still bring her inside when the temps get too cold but this is am absolutely fantastic little house and I'd recommend it to anyone.

A good little cat hotel!
Bought as a shelter for a stray cat to use during the very cold and snowy weather we were having in January (Scotland).Easy to build and good quality but found the door / ramp broken one morning and could see that the door panels were only held on with little pins and a bit of glue. Managed to fix it back together with wood glue and a staple gun, not really a major issue but could maybe do with strengthening a bit if you want to use it for a big tabby. Also made a few upgrades to ours by adding some plastic sheeting over the doorway to cut down on wind and rain getting inside. Would have added a cat flap but there's not enough space inside for it to close when the cat goes in, the flap would just rest on the cats back.Put some bungees around the shelter to hold the lid down, lifted up a couple of times when we had some gale force winds. Also added a small bit of plastic under the tip of the door/ramp where it touches the deck to prevent water soaking up into it and added a sheet of plastic to the back of the shelter as added protection for where the water runs of the roof.Have put blankets in it, and on very cold nights when it was getting down to -8 we also put in a couple of hot water bottles. The cat used the shelter the very first night we put it out and uses it most nights or when it's raining, don't think he's going to move out anytime soon!

Sturdy little cat house
I'll be honest, I'm surprised. Even having read the reviews carefully before buying, this turned out to be far better than I expected it to be.I have little patience for putting flat-pack furniture together, and the instructions with this are the usual diagram and pointy arrow no words type, but it's really very simple and for once the holes all line up and you get all the parts you're expecting to get. They even give you one extra of each of the screws and bolts in case, like me, you're prone to flinging them around out of sight. To be fair you'll get this done faster if you have an electric screwdriver, but you really don't need one. When you've got it assembled, the final product is really very sturdy, looks good, and is genuinely good quality for the price paid (around £28 at time of purchase). Is it weatherproof? Maybe. Time will tell. It's wood, so if you leave it out to rot then yes, it's going to rot. I'm thinking of painting it to help its chances, and although it comes in that "new fence panel" shade of orange it's standard garden furniture colour.A final bonus: it was bought for the cat on the understanding that she'd probably ignore it completely, but she was straight inside it having a look the second I'd finished putting it together. Your cat's mileage may vary, but she's not a small beast and there's plenty of room inside for her to fit with space to spare.Recommended.
