Lenovo is the most reliable laptop for me.
For me Lenovo makes the best laptops. The first two I owned lasted 10 years. My current laptop was an Amazon refurbished and it’s working perfectly and the price was really low.

We recently purchased the Thinkpad T14 (Gen 1) as a diagnostic tool for our truck fleet.
It's been a solid investment at a great price. The laptop offers impressive performance, solid build quality, and the features we need for our diagnostic work. However, there is one major issue we've encountered that I think is worth mentioning.Pros:Performance: The Intel i5 10310U processor, paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD, delivers smooth performance for our diagnostic software and general tasks. Boot-up times are fast, and we can run multiple applications without issue, which is crucial when working on the go with truck diagnostics.Display: The 14" 1080p Full HD display provides clear and sharp visuals. It's perfect for viewing diagnostic data and making adjustments without straining your eyes. The screen is bright enough for indoor and low-light environments.Connectivity: The inclusion of Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports gives us excellent options for connecting to external monitors or devices when needed. This is useful for larger-scale diagnostics or when additional displays are required during troubleshooting.Build Quality: As expected from Lenovo, the Thinkpad T14 is sturdy and well-built. It feels like it can handle daily use, even in a mobile environment. It’s lightweight and portable, which makes it easy to carry between trucks or workstations.Windows 11 Pro: The laptop comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro, which works well for our needs. The operating system is responsive and up-to-date with the latest features, helping ensure compatibility with modern diagnostic tools.Cons:Touchpad Issue: This is the main issue we've faced. When the laptop is cold, the touchpad doesn’t work properly or at all. We’ve noticed that after the laptop warms up, it starts functioning again, but this initial failure to respond is a significant inconvenience. Since we use this for truck diagnostics, having a non-functional touchpad in the beginning is uncomfortable and disrupts the workflow. While we can use an external mouse, this doesn’t fully solve the problem, especially when we're on the move and need to rely on the built-in touchpad.Renewed Condition: Since the laptop is a renewed model, there were a few minor cosmetic imperfections, though nothing that affects its functionality. It’s still in good shape overall, but some people might be bothered by the slight signs of previous use.Overall Verdict:The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 (Gen 1) is a great choice for those looking for an affordable and reliable laptop with solid specs for business or diagnostic use, especially at the price point it offers. The performance is great, and the display and connectivity options are more than adequate for our needs. However, the touchpad issue when cold is a notable inconvenience that can interrupt our work, especially when we need to make quick adjustments on the go. If this issue were addressed, this laptop would be near perfect for our use case. Still, if you're okay with using an external mouse or don’t mind the occasional delay in touchpad responsiveness, it's a solid option.

Beware of Seller!! Sold laptop full of VIRUSES!!
If I could give a zero star rating I would, but I did receive a "laptop", so I'll give them 1 star for effort. After receiving the laptop and booting it up, I was immediately hit with a notification that there were viruses on it. To my dismay, I tried multiple times to reinstall Windows OS, but the virus persisted and I was locked out of Windows Security. Any attempt to open "Virus and Threat Protection" led to a notification that I needed to contact my IT helpdesk. Thankfully I was using a throwaway Microsoft account because I was worried something like this could happen.I soon downloaded Malwarebytes to clean up the system, but new viruses constantly popped up, even after quarantining and removing the old ones. Luckily, Malwarebytes blocked risky websites, but at the same time I was bombarded by the sheer amount of outbound attempts. I was shocked that such a large seller could allow something like this to happen. The final straw was when I noticed that my Windows OS deactivated. I was no longer to access Windows-related services and my "Windows 11 Pro" switched to "Windows 11 Enterprise". After restarting the laptop, I was unable to sign in cause it required me to have a work or school account. Essentially, Compound IT sold me a bricked laptop full of harmful viruses. Let's just say I'm never buying a refurbished laptop again.I reported them to Amazon and Microsoft, but it was sad to see that Microsoft wanted nothing to do with it. I guess being a "Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher" means nothing, and Microsoft doesn't care if you use their name to take advantage of people looking for an affordable laptop option.Do yourself a favor and just go for a new laptop. It may be a little more expensive, but peace of mind is priceless. If you still want to risk a refurbished laptop, please download Malwarebytes. At the very least you'll get a tool that will let you scan your refurbished laptop for viruses that may be lurking. It takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch, and Compound IT doesn't mind ruining it for all the legitimate refurbished sellers out there.

Lenovo Quality is unmatched
The media could not be loaded. This is my 4th Refurbished Thinkpad. It arrived in mint condition, even smelled brand new.Fired right up and got to work. This machine single handedly upgraded my development platform from Arduino to ESP32 by having the raw power to get the job done so I could actually troubleshoot and debug the transition period. This 30 Second video shows a process of compiling and uploading firmware for an ESP32.I can't even do a comparison video between this and my dated T420 because it genuinely took 15 minutes and would fail to compile with bogus errors.I am as happy with my new Thinkpad today as I was when I got the T420. And my grandmother is going to love it as a handdown. And I know it will continue to be dependable for the Internet exploring she will use it for.And I know this one is going to be dependable for me. That's why when the time comes again, this is where I'll be.
